Too defensive isn't good either.

Either Extreme is not desirable, just saying. A defensive dog is not always a stable dog.

 

Staatsmacht, Fegelhof and vom Eisernen Kreuz comes to mind btw. Surprised no one mentioned them. Also, von der Osterwiese breeds some pretty nice and tough dogs. 

 

As for "Careful what you wish for" means just that. Everyone wants one, but once they've got one, they can't handle them. Leave these type of dogs to the professionals. 

When asked what I meant by "Be careful what you wish for", I meant that truly hard and civil characteristics are not so hard to come by themselves. But for my preference, it's really necessary for those examples of dogs to be accompanied with other qualities (i.e., clear headedness, genetic obedience, etc.)

I have had numerous hard and civil dogs, and some examples in my experience have been; overly sharp, assertively dominant, unfocused, or stubborn, which then present additional challenges that make their development less pleasureable or worth the effort.

I view each of these qualities as independent, requiring a mutual balance, and while some handlers might like their trail mix spicy, some don't. Hard and civil characteristics are very desirable, but not enough in themselves. Hard and civil qualities are not difficult to train with at all, it's the other stuff you gotta watch out for.

pm me and ill let you know price and contact info. From what I know that 1 yr old female is 5-4 on Cordon Ansat and she has a very high level of " eat your face off " natural aggression. The owner who is also a breeder / trainer was a bit surprised to see that this high level of aggression was still around in the GSD.

I have a male who is 5, 6 -7 on Cordon

and a one year old female who is 4- 6,6,7 on Cordon

Both have natural aggression towards humans, solid temperaments but not for average household.
