Reikenhaus GSD, Tracey Reid: A Cautionary Tale. - Page 1

We bought a female 8 month old GSD off Kijiji from "Jeff" in Feb. '22 but it was Tracy who we met, talked to and paid. The dog was disgusting smelling when removed from the outdoor run and put into our truck for the long drive home. Had it not been such a long drive down, we might have left her and slept on it. I was splashed by water off the floor of the run and can't tell you how cheesy and revolting the stench of that was. Poor dog. I know, kennel but this was a single run in the yard. No other dogs in sight . Our sale contract gives us the litter registration number and a microchip ID. Today I have heard from CKC that there is no record of this litter. I reached out to Tracey for an update in March and was assured the process of transferring the dog's ownership was underway. By Sept, having not received anything, I reached out again and also googled the seller. Low and behold, complaints on here about papers that never showed up. I guess I wouldn't have been able to find anything at the time of purchase as Tracy's name was not in the ad or conversation that followed, only Jeff's. Convenient. At this time I was told her old phone's info had been lost and that the litter was being "processed now" and could she see my sales contract, which I photo'd and sent. She said I would receive a pdf from her to my email, which I provided and was told "it'll be complete this week" Pray how was I given the litter registration number already at purchase? That's not a rhetorical question. A coupe of weeks later I reached out again, stating my irritation at having paid, as others have done, for a CKC registered GSD. We were debating spaying the dog so her status is not irrelevant. I informed Tracy that I would be posting here and was told she was awaiting my full name and address. Surely, surely a breeder would collect that at the time of sale ( if she didn't!) or at some point in this ridiculous fiasco. Oct 25 I was told that "this" - can't say if that's registration that was represented as completed( number provided) or the transfer of ownership that was represented as what remained to be done-would be done this week. Nov 8, still nothing. We had lost our 10 year old female in January and so we sought an older pup, hence the choice of this one and unfortunately this breeder. We paid an embarrassing premium but we were heartsick at the time and it's not this sweet dog's fault is it? It took weeks of patient rewarding, crating and equity building to get her not to cower for collaring or when passing through a doorframe and get her housetrained. When I told Tracy a short time after buying her that we found her shy (hackles up, circling barking like mad) of men, I was told that was "insane" . Then the previously snoozing comfy dog went ape s&&t when a friend lifted his keys off the table. So some man was unkind to this girl, and we still have no papers. When I searched here I found the sire was only 5 months registered and that was 7 month after we bought the pup. If you want a registered GSD, don't believe you can get one from this breeder.

Did a search for the kennel name, and guess what popped up? Well, well, this lady has a history...[eyeroll]
