What language and country/region?

Maybe also influeneced by the origin of the breed of the dog with the name, so which breed?

General pronounciation across many languages seems to go with the Greek from which it springs - making a Z sound for an X at the front of a word. Only place I've actually KNOWN it used as an 'EX' sound is in (English) English, here in the UK, where it is occasionally used playfully in dogs' names, Band names, etc. What made you ask ?

I think it would probably be " as in 'ran', rather than Zonte " - one can never be too sure, since the person who names a dog will have their own take on pronunciation & it may be an unexpected one. But the 'a' sound is more likely than if the name had been spelled "Xant h e".  JMO.
