Anyone know the correct dosage for our bog guys?? Maintenance dosage good also. thanks in advance.

What is the best glucosamine? I want to start my 2 yr old

Most senior good quality dog food should have enough glucosamine for most dogs.

According to their price Cosequin. My being snarky set aside, it is the #1 vet recommended. Though why? Hardcore marketing & profits to vets like Science Diet does?

In all seriousness, folks do swear by Cosequin.  Even horse folk-$$$.  They also make a human version. Here is the really good & important part about Cosequin, besides glucosamine, it has sodium chondroitin sulfate.

The use of glucosamine without being co-factored with sodium chondroitin sulfate is pretty much a waste of monies. They are synergistic together.

They also make a Cosequin with MSM added. If your are going to spend the big bucks, I would suggest going for this one.  (I will blindly trust that Cosequin uses a good version of MSM, as some horse person would have already ratted them out.  You know, it is amazing the complete & utter garbage dog people will feed their dogs.  Horse people can be fanatics & it costs a whole heck of a lot more to feed a horse.  Espeically if one is going to be some purist.)

If buying other brands, especially only singular ingredient(s), do your research & make sure about the purity, processing, or possible fillers added.

If you get granular, do not be shocked if your dog does not want to eat it sprinkled on food.  Don't get huffy with your dog for not liking the taste. You taste test it. LOL

I buy singular granular ingredients by the 5 & 10 pound buckets for the horses, & sometimes I pinch some onto dog food. Little fluffy dog will usually not eat his food if it is on it.

Cosequin comes in pill form for dogs.

@ThatwasClose: Cosequin has soy ingredient added.  So does Dasequin.  

@Yogidog: NO have not found that senior diets are adequate for an arthritic dog.
