Hey, Besta, in case this really is a problem you should try to solve this problem with your breed club ( like mandatory DNA tests, breedwardens ).

Best a, that is the main reason I would rather not post reg. Numbers. Akc has a new program that with sire and dam reg. Numbers plus a reg from any of the byb registration papers, they'll register a dog if the parents were Akc registerable.

If you have a dog with AKC reg. numbers, your worries are not those numbers being posted on PDB as all you have to do is go to the AKC website, type in a dogs name and you get the name, reg number and date of birth. Same with dogs with an SZ or LOI or FIN reg number and several other registries. They are all online now days, so adding them to the pedigree on PDB does not expose them...it is the registries themselves that expose them.
If I were a scammer, I would just go to those Registry websites to be certain that I got the correct info. I would not bother with PDB.
However in the past I have found that scammers do not do that. Instead they take valid pedigrees and get the information from them. That's a whole lot easier. So if you have ever issued a pedigree for a dog that you sold, you have given a scammer the info that he needs. These scammers are not stupid, well some are..... but they know how to get valid information that they trust a lot more than getting it from PDB.

Susie, the American Bulldog doesn't currently have a "Breed club" We have a bunch of separate registries, who are mostly privately owned by one or two people, with the exception to UKC.
And there a lot of fake papers and lying throughout the breed.
Ray has a legit concern.

Then Ray should not be posting his dogs on PDB, because the rules clearly state that dogs must have the date of birth and registration number when they are posted on PDB.

If someone wants to get the information on AKC dog their registration number and pedigree are easy to find on the Internet.  Entering the correct information of a dog on the PDB is not the only site information is available.  AKC has a lookup for all Registered Dogs in their database.

This the reason that if there is a problem with a AKC dog you

Has anyone ever thought about where we Admins get all our info to verify the pedigrees?
Well, the scammers get it from the same places.

Dragon, I gave my best in the attempt to understand this problem.

* United Kennel Club (UKC)
* American Dog Breeders Association, Inc. (ADBA)
* American Pit Bull Registry (APBR)
* All-American Pit Bull Association Inc. (A.A.P.B.A.)
* American Rare Breed Association (ARBA)
* Bona Fide Kennel Klub(bfkc)

and so on...

AKC doesn´t register APBTs, but ASTs, whereas UKC accepts AKC registerd dogs, the others?

Let´s say for someone outside of the US it´s confusing at best.
No wonder a lot of cheating is possible.

At least I learned a littlebit about this breed(s)... Wink Smile
