I have pre ordered and I am now waiting for my ( well my dog's ) Go Bone to arrive, It is suppose to be a robotic toy ( but built like a simple drum stick bone ) with sensors that allow the bone to move so that the dog is willing to chase it and capture/chew it. The sensors on board can detect when the dog has stop playing with the bone and the sensors can then initiate movement/vibration on its own so that it induces the dog to play again. The claimed battery life is 8 hours and the device can either be left in a pre programmed mode with the dog alone or it can be control through a phone based app. I hope some the next release/update will include a desktop app that can allow some customizable programming ( flipping, shaking, spinning, noises, etc ). So no need for a second dog ( lol ).

Any views...anyone intending to get one?

I make my children play with the dog. only kidding. My dogs chew up bones that are advertised as indestructable. I will wait for a couple of thousands of these toys to be sold and then I will not buy one

With 300 million pets plus in USA and no other known robotic toy this my be a good investment.
I would like to see though a user programmable desktop app in something like python or VB but with a graphic/modular interface ( so folks like Hund and Susie won't have to learn coding ).
Id also like to see detachable modules with a variety of colors in gloss , matte, etc so that the dog can even different colors in the same toy.

Hund won't need to "learn coding" because she won't fall for this sort of money-making toy in the first place. And yes, if I had bought one for Taz, it, like Student's dogs toys, would have been crunched up inside ten minutes - 'indestructible' or not. I'd rather take my dog (whose ball interest was insatiable, btw) out and play Fetch WITH him, than rely on him amusing himself with gimmicks. Something I'm missing with ol' Sheila, as she has zero ball drive ...

$ 169,99 ?
Please tell us how long it will last...
a nice idea, but I hope they used some real GSDs for their tests, too.

Link to this toy please, sounds like a marketing gimmick.

Link here, I will pass. Hope dogs don't choke on the parts.

Too much negativity here by posters so far. But if you ever worked on , used, or program a robot you would want to give this a chance. I have programmed more than one robot before and its really cool if you can do a nice program and then have it properly debugged.

Negativity???

Because some people don't see value in a toy that you do?

Seems you are more interested in programming the toy than anything, go buy yrself some Lego and go play in yr basement while yr dog sleeps on the bed and growls at yr wife.

My dogs like the time off when they are not working and their chew toys are programmed by a million years of evolution.
