Jyl

I finally got a new puppy about 8 weeks ago. His name is EAGLE. He is 17 weeks old now. He is a solid black who is mostly west German working lines with a small amount of Czech. So far I am really liking what I see in him. He has great toy and food drive.. LOVES to please. He knows sit, platz, hier, and watch me. He is working on fuss and learning the basic position next to me. I just started doing touch pad work (on a rubber feed bucket) with him. I will be teaching him rear end awareness and positioning on the bucket. He gets along great with my old girl (who will be 11 in the middle of May).. I play tug with him about 3-4 times a week. He has nice grips and very nice prey drive! Still working on targeting on the tug toy, but he is still very young.

Eagle is teething now, so I am not doing any tug work or bite work until he is done teething. I am only doing OB work and will start tracking soon. I have not done tracking with him yet. As the weather here has been horrible.. everything is really wet and soggy.

My goal with him is to do IPO and also AKC obedience. I will also do the FH with him as I do enjoy tracking. If all goes as planned I will do some AKC OB titles (Rally and maybe CD) towards the end of this year. Then I will do his BH summer of 2018 and hopefully IPO1 fall/winter of 2018.

I have my plans and goals with him. I hope this time it all goes as planned!! It took me about a year to get this puppy. I was on the waiting list for 6 differnt litters before finally I got Eagle. The health and genetics behind Eagle are much better than with my previous dog.

Here is EAGLE.

Looks a lot like my Eska, who also has Orry in her ped, but further back!

Love the intensity of his gaze!

He certainly looks like a keeper, looks very solid and muscular for his age.

Here's the feminine version of that stare...very strong family resemblance! I think she was about the same age as Eagle in this photo. The ears still weren't up all the time, as you'll see from the crease in the right one.

Was this a frozen semen breeding?

I have an Orry daughter -- love her. She has buckets of personality. I aso did a breeding to Django and have Django daughter -- also love her. Super bright, drivey, intense, easy to live with. Django is a really nice dog--still alive, too. These 2 girls are actually the two who sleep loose in the house every night.

Christine,
Yes it was a frozen semen breeding. Orry passed away in August of 2016 at about 15 years old.

Thanks for the complements on Eagle. I look forward to our future together.

Jyl---Congrats with your new pup! He sure does have the look of eagles! I sure hope you will have years of fun together! Mojo would always do that same move, too, the "I got your whole head in my mouth", to a younger Beau as a pup during their play.

Nice orange tree, btw. Sure wish I could grow one, lol.
