Well, lookee here ! Trump's camp will be disappointed. STILL nothing illegal in the e-mails ...

by beetree on 06 November 2016 - 20:11

Uh, that's not exactly the whole story. The conclusion remains the same as from July. She's still careless and unethical even if she isn't going to be charged criminally.

What else could Comey do? He protected his butt, and then fire was put to his feet, and now the machine had to appeased.

Politics as usual.

This is going to piss off a lot of voters and this election will be a landslide, Trump is gonna get buried.

by beetree on 06 November 2016 - 21:11

I don't think you have the pulse of the nation and will be very wrong.

It is going to be a bumpy ride. Especially the day after. No matter who wins.

Yeah, Bee, but "bigger than Watergate" it ain't !

by beetree on 06 November 2016 - 22:11

You seriously think Hillary's problems are over? You think the FBI is done investigating? I sure don't. It was described as a "fast paced review". Anything can happen, including an additional, slow paced review.

Notice how damage control for a last ditch wikileaks drop was already deployed. Somebody is worrrrrried!

The thing is, Hillary can't stop herself from testing ethical grey zones. She will do it again, and again, and again....and again. The machine isn't about to bite the hand that feeds it, so she gets away with it. But I have faith in Karma. When that bitch finally catches up to Hillary, boy oh boy, it will be most gratifying.

What's this about Chelsea and her wedding, and the Foundation and the infighting with Doug Band? If it isn't one thing, it's another!

No - so where did I say I thought her problems were over ? I am simply pointing to (yet another) of Icky Donald Enema's much - shouted claims that have been shown to be absolutely untrue, viz. that this time Hilary was going to be proved to have been up to something actually illegal, and a scandal greater than Watergate was about to ensue. He was wrong - again. His trouble is, he gets it wrong so often. Even when by rights he is getting at targets where he might conceivably get it right, he can't even pull that off properly. Do voters really believe someone who gets it so wtong, so often, is actually worth putting in office ? Any guarantees he'll start getting it right when he is Prez. ? Or will he almost immediately prove a 'spent force', floundering out of his depth amidst all the real politicians, who will overule anything he wants to do that would not suit the 'establishment', or create any real powers (for good or ill) for the massed 'middle' class ?

by beetree on 07 November 2016 - 13:11

IMHO

It is wishful thinking. He's not a career politician, so it gives him more leeway with some.

I don't think you understand that his voters will see a difference between a campaigning Trump and a Trump who is most confident when already in charge, as in POTUS. He won't be on the defensive, (not his strength) but as a leader, (his comfort zone and what they have seen via realty show as his forte) and that is the Trump they want. Not like Hillary, who remains constant in the role of campaigner or elected politician and will always be The House of Mirrors.

It is somewhat ironic how hard Hillary needs Hollywood to stump for her, just to stay even with Trump.

If Donald succeeds, our checks and balances and probably VP Pence, a most reasonable and seasoned politician, will force a reckoning as to what can be changed, and what can not. I personally don't think we will be ruled under fascism ... with either candidate.

I think it will be a close race. But ... Hillary, probably will win.

I still don't know what I am going to do in that voting booth! It would seem easiest to just do nothing, but that would be a lousy role model to my kid who is coming home just to vote. I am one of those who will just be glad it is over.

Trump is an insecure narcissist with a very poor view of anyone who is not wealthy white man.  How anyone could think he would suddenly change his tune is beyond me.  He cheated his illegal workers out of wages, he cheated those who signed up for Trump University (don't forget that class action suit), he filed for bankruptcy multiple times, he has not yet released his tax returns (what is he hiding), he has bragged about sexual assault (no it is not locker room talk, it is a glaring example of his view on the value of women), he has insulted women who are not thin, pretty, or big chested, he has been inappropriate with his own daughter Ivanka (to the point anyone not blind to body language and facial expression can see her discomfort), he is a serial cheater, employs magical thinking (lies and then forgets he lies), he has insulted veterans with PTSD and POWs, brags he knows more about ISIS then the generals who are privy to clandestine information, bragged he wanted to bring torture back "and worse", bragged he wanted to kill the families of terrorists (including wives and children), bragged he wanted to use nukes, he advocates violence ("punch him in the nose"), said he will overturn Roe v, Wade, maternity leave/protection (even stated nursing is gross and pregnancy is an inconvenience to employers), and LGBT legislature, stated that a low minimum wage is a good thing, bragged about fixing the tax system in favor of the wealthy, engages in midnight tweeting sessions full of insults and infantile behavior, overturn Affordable Care Act rather than propose fixes (my son got to keep my health insurance until he was 26 and my friends were not denied health coverage for pre-existing conditions of diabetes or not have their pregnancy covered because they were pregnant when their husband was hired before the 6th months were up), and the list goes on.......

How can anyone not see unless they are of the top 1%, which, I am not.  Guess I am too poor to vote Republican.  Guess I employ critical thinking skills and demand facts not conjecture.

Trump's voters may imagine they are going to see a different, stronger man once he is President (IF he is); they will not necessarily prove correct in that expectation.
Just look at his history, as 'a leader': the wrong decisions about many products of his business deals (Taj Mahal, anyone ?); the babyish whingeing about how everyone is conspiring against him (with no proof) when he thinks he should have won some title or award but didn't; his inability to string a complete sentence or cogent thought together. This stuff hasn't been restricted to the Trump of the POTUS campaign trail, it is permanently him.
