And soon the final poll will arrive.

Looks like it will be a nail biter. Fancy that.

Huma being absent at this crucial time, how important is she?

...Chief of Staff (COS) becomes apparent and critical.

The COS position isn’t one that is clearly recognized, understood or embraced in the private sector; it is inherently a position most frequently found in the office of political officials, who have incredible and competing demands for their time yet understand that listening to the voices of their constituencies, influencing their colleagues, building coalitions and navigating the “machine” of government is essential to delivering value (and by delivering value, I mean getting re-elected). There’s no refuting that the purpose of a Senator’s office is different than that of, say, a mid-size technology company. But the purpose is immaterial for the sake of this argument because ultimately, in any organization, with any purpose, people get you there. Or worse yet, they can keep you from getting there. And in all organizations, particularly the more complex their organizational structure becomes, the increased likelihood for cracks through which things; important things, can fall. You see, people let “things fall between the cracks”, not organizational structures, but incorrectly, the structure is blamed if the cracks are not mitigated and sealed because the cracks are the space between the silos of responsibility. The CEO should care because at the end of the day, it’s always their responsibility - that is where a good COS comes into play. But because organizations are comprised of people, cracks can appear and emerge at any given moment as people’s lives change (family emergencies, illness, car accidents, hitting the lottery, heck - a bad mood) and a good Chief of Staff’s job is to be aware of when and where those cracks appear and to know how to fill it in. It can and would be argued that a good CEO should naturally have their finger on the pulse of their senior managers and that those senior managers should have their finger on the pulse through their managers and their managers should have their finger on the pulse through their directors and so on and so forth, but in any structure, the more joints in the line, the greater the probability for error. A good COS is like the thermostat of an organization. He/she takes the time to build the trust and confidence of the team and is constantly reading the temperature of the people. As the right-hand, trusted partner of the CEO, the COS advises the CEO to turn up the heat, cool things down and perhaps opt to oscillate the fan accordingly (see the incredible work of Harvard professor Chris Argyris). Further, a COS works with the CEO on messaging, what’s top of agenda, and making sure that the CEO’s commitments of time actually move the needle. The biggest challenge for a CEO (or any leader) is being “overtaken by events.” A COS makes sure the CEO stays ahead of the curve.

How come when the FBI investigates Icky the media doesn't talk about it? This election isn't as close as some would have you believe and why is it that when an American murders police officers no one calls him a terrist? When you mark that ballot for Icky you have done woman and minorities a major disservice to the point of throwing away your womanhood. Just sayin.

by beetree on 02 November 2016 - 14:11

Oh come on. You sound kinda scared that the enthusiasm is going the wrong way for you. We've been down this road s-o-o-o-o many times already. You keep on fishin' and again, I'm not tellin'.

Thowin' away womanhood, LOL ! Thanks for the laugh. Been a bit on the stressful side for me, (nothing to do about politics or this site) that was a good belly one!

Here's a secret thought of mine! It won't matter who gets elected, it won't be the end of the free world as we know it. No matter who is doing the Chicken Little imitation.

Well here is a fun fact for you to belly laugh about - since the 50s dems have seen double the amount of jobs created. Imagine that! Yes, you are throwing your womanhood away when you vote Icky and for that matter republican and here is why - they don't care that you are a woman, they think woman are objects to be seen and not heard. That is throwing everything the preceding generations of woman have fought for out the window, you can't see it because you are blinded by red and what it does for you but others can see it. Are you sure the free world will not suffer with Icky as President after all he does like dictators and wants to abolish at least parts of the 1st. It really doesn't matter at this point because this election isn't as close as the last few. I hope the republicans keep going down this road as it makes it oh so easy, Palin, Romney, Bush and the Maverick now Icky - what a crew you have there.

by beetree on 02 November 2016 - 15:11

A politician should only care that I am a person. Your statistics, hmm, well, I just took a gander and of course I find statistics that easily refute your claim. Tons of variables to toss around to be able to make any sort of claim by any party.

If Trump gets elected he won't be able to make illegal actions, happen, simple as that, just as Hillary won't be able to dissolve student loan debt or provide free community college to students. Nice idea though, but unless we keep the money printing presses going, just is not going to work. Oh, yeah, the National Debt, remember? That is such an abstract concept, of course it means nothing to most people.

Contrary to your statement, I am not color blind, I am an artist, after all.

Are you sure this race isn't close? All the maps I've seen today show how she's dropped into the 280's for electoral votes when she was well over 300, not too long ago.

Her speeches are sounding a bit harried, without Huma, I' am thinking.

BTW, look up Sid Miller another great republican who knows how to talk about woman. "If Trump gets elected he won't be able to make illegal actions" why according to your creed Obama is going to declare marshall law and remain president for life. I hear rumors that if the dems win the Senate, Hillary will appoint Obama to the supreme court, wouldn't that be something, lmao. I hate to break this to you but artists are color blind.

Here hopefully this will make it easier to understand.

I am not a color blind artist, sorry to disappoint you. Actually, men are more prone to be colorblind, as Ninja could tell you.

So, you found a pretty chart. I know that statistics are so easily manipulated. Like, how many jobs were also lost during those times? How many of the jobs created are inferior to the ones that were lost? Why aren't Government jobs counted? And do you seriously think that economic trends stay completely within the bounds of an election cycle? These questions make your chart pretty art to look at, but not so much for a convincing argument as to why anyone would want to elect Hillary. Hillary will expand Government jobs, is my guess. Keep that bureaucracy growing and protect the machine that got her there. Have you ever stopped to take notice of the difference between a Government employee insurance/healthcare plan and the one you had to purchase?

The other point you want to make about political parties and the treatment of woman is full of holes. Really by your thoughts, then all Democratic men are sexting perverts with underage women, just like Weiner.

I don't have a creed, lol, and I would never think Obama would call Marshall Law and be President for life, not sure how you arrived at that one! But sure is funny! Thanks again for the second good chuckle of the day.

Of course, I am slightly oxygen deprived from my Crossfit workout. Geeze, those trainers are task masters!

What this election has exposed is that there is a significant number of Americans who are misinformed, uneducated, irrational, racist and xenophobic as well as not believing in capitalism, personal freedoms or democracy.

They think they are electing a dictator in Trump which is scary since that means they want a dictator. It also shows that they don't quite understand what powers the president actually has (Trump probably doesn't either). All of the things Trump says he will do are things he cannot do. When libertarians fear the republican candidate more than the democratic one that tells you something.

This guy wants to:

Round up some people which would inevitably infringe upon American citizens' 4th Amendment rights.
Ban some people which would also infringe on the 4th Amendment.
Stop and frisk all people (or is it only black people?), again the 4th Amendment. It was also ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.
Commit war crimes by killing the families of terrorists. Those pesky Geneva Conventions we signed.
Pushed the racist inspired birther issue. And somehow Obama has been the one behind the so-called current racial divide in this country.
Change libel laws which would infringe upon the 1st Amendment.

Someone needs to inform him and his followers that the president is supposed to defend the Constitution, not attack it. That agenda he preaches, and he has preached what I posted, is not conservatism. It isn't classical liberalism. It isn't even American. It is fascism. It is totalitarianism. Of course he won't be allowed to do these things because we have a system of checks and balances in place to keep presidents from doing these very things. But it is sad that Americans would be OK with all of that just because they don't a woman for president. And if anyone says Clinton being a woman has nothing to do with it, he would be lying. I'm a man so I can understand the code being used. Just like, since I'm also white, I can understand the racist code of the birther movement.

by Noitsyou on 02 November 2016 - 18:11

BTW, Trump will expand government jobs and spending. The wall alone will need people to build it. People to man it. People to maintain it. Trump is a business genius though. He'll find a way to pay for all of that, as well as government healthcare (he said he will replace Obamacare, not get rid of gov. healthcare) and increased military spending, while lowering taxes. Sadly, people believe that.
