Holes - the family can go out to a training night and see some Bullinger dogs being worked at the club, they can talk to Tracy and see what she breeds, and then get a good idea about if what she produces will fit in with their situation/household.

We'll tell them about it, our friend is a little wary of SL breeders currently, but I heard lots of good things about Tracey.

And yes, we heard that breeder in Quebec is wonderful, but, since he's looking for a family dog, he wants a dog, that he can bring out, sit down at a Cafe and relax, without the dog being reactive, and fearful, this dog will be coming everywhere with him for work, and even swimming, to beaches, etc. (Obviously the dog doesn't have to be a swimmer!) But the family, wants to bring the dog every where. The family also likes bringing their friends over constantly, so they cannot have a dog that's very defensive either. He use to own Shepherds, and a Shiloh Shepherd, and all of them were wonderfully protective and wary, but would never bite anyone unless.. Suspicious (aka, a robber who once robbed their house got tackled by their Shiloh Shepherd.)

So, the dog must be OK, more than a .. Just inside family only.

Christina produces a lot of videos on her website and fb page and she is quite patient. Does not push you to buy a dog. Navar is only one of the Sires she uses. She has used Iron, Cert, Javir, Bolle and a few others. She also gives out references who you can call. Thats how I met the NYC owner of two of her dogs. She may have suitable dogs as well.

This is to anyone in the future looking for a puppy specifically in Vancouver, BC.
(Excuse me if this is being posted in the wrong section of the forums).

It's been a while since... I've posted here, I just wanted to come back and say, buyers, please be careful when purchasing a puppy from 'Woodside German Shepherds' -- these dogs, are very poorly bred dogs, with absolutely terrible genetic issues, I never knew a dog's genetic issues could be this bad, and never knew a dog could actually be THIS aggressive.

I purchased my very own puppy from Woodside in March of 2016, after I was referred to by a friend, ever since then, everything has been downhill for me.

At 3 months, my puppy became fear aggressive... I never knew a puppy could be fear aggressive at 3 months, but, with Woodside dogs, this is very common. It took me, one month for my dog to stop avoiding eye contact with me as a puppy, not to mention, I couldn't even socialize my puppy, as my puppy wanted nothing to do with anyone, even at long distance, he wanted nothing to do with the world, as he was petrified. It took me two months to even be able to walk him, even after him finally getting use to go down the street, he refuses, and bites my leg and wants to go home, because he's terrified.

Another month passed by, at 4 months, this is when it got incredibly worse for me, my dog, refused to socialize with any dog, doesn't matter what size the dog was, if he saw a dog, he snarls, and snaps his teeth, while lunging aggressively trying to attack the dog.. Absolutely for no reason, even if the dog is blind and deaf, he's so terrified, that he has the NEED to attack, because of these terrible nerves.

Even at 4 months old, my dog started lunging and biting people, absolutely for no reason at all. If anyone were to stare or even make eye contact with my dog, he is instantly triggered, and lunges, and snarls aggressively, not a single person he doesn't know can come near me, or, him, or my home. Because of how aggressive he is. My dog is even scared of children, despite have been socialized with children, he snarls and bares his teeth because he's terrified.

At around 5 months, he has bitten multiple people, after being walked by my roommate. He now has to wear a muzzle.

He is now 8 months old, and still has the same issues, on a bigger scale. No type of training can help him, as the genetic issues he has are this extreme. More than 8 other people, and trainers who have run into these dogs, cannot fix these issues, and are dealing with the same dogs who are having these issues at 3 - 6 months, that keep getting worse and worse, and there dogs, too have bitten people. Keep in mind, trainers have said the breeder's dogs they are dealing with are MUCH worse then mine, who knew that was possible!

I would also like to mention, Sandy, the terrible breeder writes fake reviews for herself, to make herself sound like an elegant breeder. This woman is nothing but a scammer, and a liar, and very unprofessional and has NO clue what she is talking about. So, please, if you google her reviews, DO not believer her LIES, they are FAKE. On the phone after asking for the advice she promised, she SWORE at me and went on a rant, after I asked why my (at the time) 9 week old puppy was afraid of people, blaming me, for attempting to socialize the puppy, since when is it wrong to socialize a 9 week old GSD puppy?!?! -- Why did she scowl at me? Because she was hiding the fact that her dogs have very bad ISSUES, which SHE is aware of.

This breeder also does not temperament test her dogs. The parents of my dog are unknown, she does not show you the mother, nor the real father of the puppies as well when viewing the puppies. She knows if you're a new buyer, and will take advantage of that (so do your research if you consider buying from this woman.) She has more than 30+ dogs in her kennels that stay in cages it seems all day, and all of them are AS aggressive!

Buyers beware in the Vancouver area, if you want a companion, go save your time and buy a Bullinger, or rescue a Shepherd, buying from Sandy is the biggest mistake you'll ever make in your LIFE. These dogs, are NOT suitable as a companion, or even for WORK, unless you live alone in PURE ISOLATION because of their weak nerves.

I've never experienced something so terrible in my life.
My life is now committed to 13 - 15 years of my dog, that has all these problems. I cannot even walk my dog safely on the sidewalk, because, he is so terrified of cars, he has multiple times, pulled me on the street to attack a motorcyclist or a car driver, making ME, and him almost get hit by a car.

This is my first dog, and my first experience with the Shepherd breed, for 13 years, I will not get to experience the truth wonders of the breed, after being so screwed over by this breeder.

So, buyers, PLEASE beware, as you ARE getting ripped off by this woman, and are paying twice as more for a POORLY bred dog.

Some here would call it an old school gangsta dog and breed it.

@HolesInMyBoots: "Its been a while since I posted here" - yeah, 'cos 8 weeks is a lifetime !

You say you are still having the same troubles with your PUPPY - who is now 8 months, he was 6 months when you posted "Pedigree".

I think you have made your point about Sandy of Woodside Kennels, Vancouver; and her breeding of dogs with poor temperament, failure to register them properly, her treatment of (inexperienced) buyers, and so on.

But you do not tell us this time if you took the advice you were given, to seek out proper training help etc ? And, forgive me, but your OP is - just as I had to point out with the last thred - unclear:

For instance: "...he has bitten multiple people, after being walked by my flatmate ..."  What, multiple people after one walk; or many people on many walks, in which case why were you letting your flatmate continue to walk him ?  Have you had so little time to walk with him, work with him, bond with him yourself ?

Every time you post, you set alarm bells ringing in my head about your ability to handle (A PUPPY OF) a large, working breed of dog. It is NOT sufficient to like what a breed LOOKS like, buy one and take  your chances on understanding them, raising them correctly, knowing what their needs are, assessing whether they are behaving correctly or not.  I have heard from many 'amateur' owners over the years: oh, my puppy bites - when really what they wanted was a chihuahua to ride in a shoulder-bag, not a German Shepherd Dog, at all !

I got my showline male from Bullinger Shepherds and I can assure you he is anything but shy and skiddish.
Actually, he was very confident and secure from the second he stepped out of his crate at the airport.
He has a sensational temperament, wonderful with the kids and an a natural protective instinct. Very eager to please, and beautiful with proper conformation to boot.
A very high drive dog.
The only thing that kept him from following the path of his father and grandfather, was, ME

@HundMutter - Are you serious right now? I should literally send you a video of a group of dogs from Sandy who are experiencing the exact same thing right now, yet, you blame me. And make excuses. A while ago, I PM'd and talked to a few people on here, and ASKED for the help, they offered and I waited two months and they never got back to me with the help they had offered. During those two months, I have seen multiple trainers in the Vancouver area, and have already spent over $1,000 with trainers, the current one I am paying for is $160 per day, whenever I see her, SHE is dealing with 4 other Woodside dogs who is having the SAME issues, but said my dog is SLIGHTLY different as surprisingly he isn't AS bad, as the one's she is dealing with which are apparently 8x worse, didn't know that was possible. My roommate has walked him TWICE, while I was at work, only my RM, and he has BIT people, from lunging at them on the side, these were hikers in isolated zones, where there shouldn't even be people. Since then, the rule is, we don't let him near anyone, they need to be at like 5 - 8 feet away from us, because he cannot handle people, nor is neutral towards them! You can blame me as much as you like, and point your finger at me all you want, I already know I had made a mistake being an inexperienced buyer and going to this breeder I was REFERRED TO. But, to say, it's my fault for not fixing him, is absolutely ridiculous! MULTIPLE people are struggling with the SAME issue as my dog, but there's is on a much LARGER scale, these are buyers who HAD German Shepherds, I recently met someone who works for a Vancouver all-GSD rescue, and, 3 of Sandy's dogs (adults), are at there rescue and cannot get adopted out because even THEY suffer from the same issues. He has seen 6 trainers so far, $1,000+ has been spent on training, and it hasn't helped him, NOW, I am praying that signing him up for agility classes will help his issue. I can handle the breed fine. But to say it's my fault for his lunging not being fixed, snarling, etc, is ridiculous, even when I've been working with him for two months straight, non-stop. Absolutely ridiculous, Hundmutter. And the reason why I re-posted this, is because the breeder is CONTINUING to advertise her dogs, falsely, and is WRITING FAKE REVIEWS ABOUT HERSELF <---- HIGHLIGHT THIS. THIS IS A WARNING TO ANY BUYER, TO NOT BUY THESE DOGS, AS THE REVIEWS ARE FAKE! If you do NOT, see that as an issue, then, I'm not sure what to tell you.

P.S: The dogs people have bought from her, all have bitten multiple people as well, and have attacked dogs. Her dogs genetics, are crazy.

I'm done with my post, I just HAD to warn people, because, fake reviews is INSANE.

@KitKat -- Love Bullinger, a man up my street has one from Tracey, beautiful dog, and very friendly, he took her to the park, and was playing with her, that outstanding dog would greet everyone, and play with all the children that weren't even the dude's own kids.

The owner was also very proud when talking about his dog, never seen a dog that happy and sweet in my life.

One day I really got to visit Tracey's kennels to take a peek of her gorgeous dogs, honestly.

OH, and the final thing I have to say to you, Hundmutter, the CURRENT trainer who is working with him, is dealing with a bunch of HIS siblings, from the SAME... LITTER! He was in.... His siblings are worse than he IS!

Done here, just wanted to get the warning out about the fake reviews :)
