Hi all, my friend is looking to buy a Shepherd.. He lives in Vancouver, B.C. He is not looking for a show line puppy, but a pup that is great around kids, and large families. He also wants a confident Shepherd, not a skittish / fearful GSD.

Is there any good breeders here that fall in that criteria?
He does not want a dog like mine (fearful and skittish), as he has seen the issues my dog has.

Thanks.

Also, sorry if this in the wrong section, didn't know where to ask this, just wanted breeder recommendations, he's considered Bullinger, but since they're showline, he's afraid the dog will come off as skittish / aggressive / fearful. I doubt it though since her dogs have a good reputation.

Show line does not mean it will be skittish or fearful

Highly recommend Bullinger kennel.

Tracy Bullinger breeds German show lines, in accordance with the SV rules. Her dogs are sound, great looking GSD's, and if I was to buy a German show lines dog that is where I would go. I have seen Tracy Bullinger doing the hard work of training and titling her dogs, and for a family that wants a well-bred GSD as a companion and all-round dog I think she could match them up with a suitable pup.

Wendelin Farms in Quebec .. maybe too far and maybe too much dog for a family dog .. real deal GSD .. even in a litter of little T Rex puppies there can be one that is cut out to be a family dog.

Bubba - if the family wants to see the litter and the parents, then Chapeau,Quebec (Wendelin) is a little far away, as in 2640 miles far away, lol.    I do agree that Wendelin produces very nice working dogs.

Am I allowed to mention breeders on these forums? If it's negative related, am I not allowed to either?

I second Christina at Wendelin farms . I personally know someone in NYC who bought two dogs from Christina and they are awesome. The male he has very nice Czech and a full brother to Ginger Vom Wendelin. A dog with a very strong presence and dominance. Whether or not this is good for all, the male is just like his sire Navar; he cannot be petted by persons outside his family.

Mith - did you read the first post? The people want a dog that is good with LARGE families, not a dog that can be petted only by a few people. Also, a strong working dog may not be the best choice for this family, depending on their experience and commitment to a dog with higher drives and needs. Not saying that Wendelin would not produce a dog that could fit into their criteria, but if the people want to see the parents and the pups they cannot unless they are willing to travel to the other side of the country. They are looking for a breeder in the Vancouver area, as per the original post.
