Please advise for leather leash that used in SV world class show - Page 1

Hi Guys

Need you guys help please, I am looking to buy leather leash that most of handlers use in SV world class show. DO you know the brand name or web site or distributor that I can buy from the net? I live in Thailand and hope and thank you for your help

A show lead is a simple 8' (about 2.5M) thin lead with a clasp on one end. Usually made of leather about 1/2 wide (~12 mm). Many professional handlers will provide their own lead.

The collar is a bit of a specialty item. Check the regular dog vendors in the US & Europe.

The regular working dog vendors (Google will help you find them) will carry those leashes or you can have one made up locally. I suspect it would be expensive to import one from the US.
 

How abut FRABO? I can find in the German web but not respond when I asked to ship to my home-Thailand and in USA or Aus side?

In the UK we often buy them from Germany, but there are manufacturers here who sell them on, and theirs may be made just about anywhere. Often your best bet is 'saddle leather' suppliers, lead lengths made from the same leather as used for horses' reins.

You want good strength and preferably soft to hold, as well as the extra length (more than 'normal' leashes).

I make a leash that's been used by some of the best in Germany. 7/16"x1/4" oiled harness leather with either a stainless steel or brass clasp. The ones you buy are generally lacking in either leather quality or the clasp is pot metal. Just buy the best components and make it yourself.
