Canadian Kennel CLub OR Continental Kennel Club??

Schutzhund does not require the dog to be AKC or CKC or UKC, it's a separate registry.

it is the continental kennel club

OK CKC, continental kennel club papers are not accepted by other registries. They are considered a "Fake" registry. And are not worth what ever you paid. Basically you have a puppy with only have a pedigree. The only way to be registered with AKC is to have a PAL done after you have the dog fixed. Your are screwed.

well, let's hope you are wrong, the male is a wusv participant...4 time regional champ....the female is microchipped & tatooed...from a respectable breeder in checkolslavachia, and the bitch was artificially inseminated at the vet ,after obtaining sperm from the male in the same office....same day. The pups are bred, born & whelped here in the US.Otherwise I too, would have lots of reservations about this ckc registration,as I don't really like it.I have heard something that if a 3yr certified ckc pedigree can be submitted akc w/ accept the transfer.....for the pups.....Has anyone any knowledge of this or have experience w/ a similar situation...if so please advise....thanks much

To register ckc, as a purebred (because they register mixes also) you only need 2 signatures and 5 pictures. As far as I am aware, AKC will have absolutely nothing to do with CKC.

Something's fishy there...when I think of reasons why a Czech import GSD would end up being registered with the Continental Kennel Club instead of the AKC, the first thing that comes to mind is that the person who has her wasn't able to get the necessary paperwork to register with the AKC, and had to take what they could get...which was the Continental Kennel Club. So why would a breeder not be able to get AKC registry on their brood bitch? Hmmm...many possibilities.

The breeder's initials wouldn't happen to be TH, would they?

Yes I agree with the replies you have gotten so far. This is something I would steer clear of , but seems you have already found yourself in a mess. If the female could have been AKC registered she would have been already. The possibilities are endless on this one there are too many red flags. Hope you find an answer

AKC wants to see proof of DNA for any imports. Is there any DNA proof for the dam? That´s a major problem with dogs coming from Eastern Europe, sad, but true.

As long as you don´t want to breed, but "only" participate in IPO/SchH I wouldn´t care too much. Good luck!
