I suppose its too soon to ask what AKC are replying
to those letters ?

Strange...

but the first sentence of the SV data says:

"Nicht im SV gezüchtet, kein Anspruch auf Richtigkeit und Vollständigkeit"

this means:

"Not bred within SV, no claim ( right ) of validity and completeness" -
they say " DNA proved ",
they mention no breeder, they just confirm the fit between DNA sample and parents.

That said someone must have sent a DNA sample to German SV, and this sample fit to sire and dam.
That´s all they did - test for parentage.

Either this dog is a son of said dogs, or someone sent the wrong DNA to Germany.

Arek and Hesie have been bred in 2010 already - so either a repeat breeding was done, or someone used the DNA of a dog out of the "official" 2010 litter...and someone "constructed" an AKC pedigree with a German as "breeder" - that´s fraud.

Hi Susie

Thanks for the info..

the AKC pedigree of this dog now shows HEIDEMARIE MAKUS as the breeder of the rescue dog. (I underlined it in red)

This person bred Arek AND Hesie, but sold them both in 2005.

Arek was NOT bred in March of 2010 to Hesie, or any other dog.. I happen to know he had sustained an injury and was sterile.

It is possible that the DNA of the rescue dog is from a very tight inbreeding, because several of the "relative" dogs were on the property at that point in time.

Point I am making is, regardless of DNA, there is no way a German breeder in Germany should be listed as BREEDER of that dog.

Also, the owners of both Arek AND Hesie had absolutely no knowledge that papers had been issued on this dog, without their permission or consent.

I do not understand the relationship between SV and AKC with regards to this, and that's why letters have been written to AKC.

Not sure if SV needs to be contacted??

Susie, maybe you can translate the SV page for me??  I can PM you my email..

Hundmutter, it is too soon to know yet the outcome, but I will post anything new for you and all others as concerned about this faux pass as I am.

I wouldn't necessarily hold my breath waiting for an answer from AKC.

Back in the days before DNA I was the secretary of an AKC GSD specialty club and in that position was told by a new neophyte club member the circumstances surrounding her bitch's breeding.

Stud dog #1 - they didn't think they got a breeding but these were people who had no understanding of what an outside tie was and there were multiple breeding attempts. They decide to try another dog.

Stud dog #2 while trying to breed to him in unfenced front yard the bitch gets away and is gone for more than a half an hour into the neighborhood woods. But not to worry says the owner. Nothing could have happened in that time. Neighborhood at the time was known to have loose dogs running free. So there was a good chance the dog was bred by sire of unknown breed or breeds.

Later a breeding is accomplished with stud #2. So at a minimum there were two possible sires at a time we had no way to distinguish who the pups were from. Then we had the possibility of a local salesman so in reality the possibility of three sires.

I informed AKC of the scenario - they registered the litter anyway. It's all about the money.

The other thing that was well known to happen in the AKC world was blue slip fraud where you claimed more pups in a litter than born so if you ever needed an extra blue slip there would be one handy. A version of this can be accomplished even in the age of dna as long as you have the requiste samples on hand which may be part of what happened here.

Yes, fraud can be done in a multitude of ways, but in THIS case the make-believe was perpetrated by a person who has NO connection to the actual OWNERS of the AKC registered parents.

It's gone WAAAAY beyond money, which is why I pointed it out...

Some things are just SO grotesquely wrong....  and this one is a winner!

A rescue/shelter dog, granted AKC full papers and an AKC certified pedigree that lists a made-up birthday, a breeder in another country who hadn't owned either parent for more than 5 years, and questionable DNA, all done without the owners' permission or knowledge.

I can't believe this is anything but a mistake..  and a loophole that needs to be addressed with AKC!!

Oh, and don't forget that the person who did this is a poster on this board!!

I'm waiting to see what his explanation is for doing this...

I thought about this occurance the whole day...

I am not quite sure about the new DOxS system yet - DenWolf, is it possible that AKC, not SV, tested for DNA, and lately registered / tested AKC dogs are listed within the new SV system, too? Kind of collaboration between AKC and SV, and German SV states because of that "Not bred within SV, no claim ( right ) of validity and completeness" ?

Never forget, DOxS is not our official "breed book", it´s just the attempt to sum up as much data as possible. I am still not able to sign in ( damn old computer software ), so I am not able to check this out.

I am pretty sure it is a collaboration between the AKC and SV..  don't see how it was possible to trick AKC unless fake information was submitted, though. Its a mess.

Funny thing, today I noticed that vonWyzal scam thread, and remembered posting on one of those other wyzal problem threads... (concerning an AKC paperwork issue)   -  go to page FOUR.

Anyway, went back and took a screen shot of a certain post from that thread:

BTW, THAT's the PDB member I have been referring to. I guess he isn't planning to come on here and explain why he did this either.

Letter have been sent out.
