Good morning,

Asking the community for some suggested breeders in the New York area and surrounding states (VT, MA, PA, NJ, etc.) that they can recommend for purchasing a GSD puppy. I have found three breeders that I like, but figured it couldn't hurt in look a few more.

I was looking for sable working line breeders of West, DDR, and East German lineage. This will NOT be my fist time owning a dog, but this will be my first time owning a pure GSD. Just coming to the community for some ideas since I know so many people out there say they have the "best of the best."

I welcome any advice and suggestions your have.

Thank you

Andre C.

Maybe you could tell us more of what you're looking for...What are you wanting a German Shepherd for... ... ...Sport...Police Work...Pet...Personal Protection...etc...

What experience do you have with working dogs? Matching a dog/breeder with a potential owner is very important for both dog and owner...Too much dog and it doesn't work...Too little of a dog and this doesn't work either...

Bob

Sorry for leaving that out, that information would be helpful...

I have always had an interest in getting onto the working sport. The only experience I have had is from a few years back when I was invited to visit a club in my area by one of my co-workers. I watched how the training and was blown away by the precision of the dogs there, I even wore the sleeve to help out, but that's the extent of my experience.

I do agree with your statement, too much dog and little work is not good, and just the opposite of too little of dog..…So a good breeder that understand this and can help me find a good balance between this is what I’m looking for.

Thanks for the advice.

Andre

If you're willing to drive to Syracuse to pick up the pup, I would recommend Vom Wendelin out of Quebec , Can.

Also know someone in  Wayne ,NJ with a Nero Udoli Ediny son to be bred with  a Frona Od Roubensky Daughter.

Here is a full litermate to the Nero son:

Mithuna, please PM me or email me who owns the Nero son. I bred a bitch to Nero but it didn't take. Would love to have something from a son.
