What are your thoughts on selling puppies on limited registration, and then lifting it to full once dog is health tested and titled?
I'm okay with it, and have a young dog on a similar agreement.
I have read very mixed opinions of the matter.

Counterwise, I have no interest in a pup from a breeder who primarily does limited registration. My hesitations stem from the question: If the breeders have such doubt of the offsprings' potential, why are they even breeding the parents? Limited registration will also not prevent backyard breeders from using the dog for breeding stock, then registering the offspring with some group like the Continental Kennel Club.
Another thing I absolutely hate to see is when, for only a few hundred dollars more, the same breeder will sell puppies with full registration. More money spent doesn't mean the owners will be any better caliber, nor will a higher sale price somehow make the pup better. This seems like shady dealings to me.
I see limited registration the most with breeds not common in the US, and I firmly believe this is because the breeder wants to control competition for their lines. I was looking at Tibetan Mastiffs several years ago, and nearly every US breeder sold puppies exclusively with limited registration. If I find a breeder who sells primarily with limited registrations, I will move past them and look elsewhere.

I for sure understand your points, but as I'm sure you know, great dog+great dog doesn't always equal great dog.

AKC people are the ones that use "Limited Registrations"...They don't want people to use their bloodlines to compete against them...If someone uses my dogs/breedings and do well in Trials and/or breed them and produce well...I'm very happy...It makes me feel very good...
It's a whole different world between Working Dog people and U.S. Show people and then different then the way they feel in Europe...

Why does the breeder have to be a crap breeder because they give Limited
I give Limited. I have a price on a pup if it is to much for the buyer I will offer Limited and they pay LESS.

This is a problem we don´t have to deal with, because our dogs have to meet the criteria set up by SV. No buyer is able to breed a pedigreed litter without SV standard.
As long as there are no rules in your country, I´d sell every puppy with limited registration only, and as soon as the adult dog is able to achieve my requirements prior to breeding, I´d change to full registration without any money paid, simply because I am proud of my dogs.

I don't see breeders selling pups on LR to restrict competition, I see it as a way to protect their lines. Yes it is possible for the buyer to go behind the breeder's back and still breed, and that you can't make people follow your wishes 100%.
