Do you think this 44 day GSD male puppy is Long Hair or Stock Hair ?  Sure or in doubt ?

Same boy in 2 pics...

Fluffy stock. Do you have any pics of him between 2 and 3 weeks? That's when I can tell best.

I agree with Jenni - fluffy stock coat.

I would guess long coat... my boy wasn't that fluffy at that age, yet he ended up being a long coat. Granted his coat is fairly short for a long coat.

7 weeks old

I don't want to take over your post, but I am also wondering about my nine week old girl, I was thinking plush.....

I can't believe that little sable guy turned out to be a coat!

I would say your pup is plush coat  Wink Smile

@Dakonic - great picture timeline of your puppy! It also shows so nicely how much the sables change. I love the 4th picture in on the 1st page - his GSD intelligence and work ethic come across so well in his expression already despite his young age!
As far as tagging yours as longcoat when a pup, it would be hard to tell from a side body shot, however one of the main places to look is around the ears. Yours had tufts starting to "sprout" in the 9 week old shots, a strong indication (although no guarantee, just a strong likelihood) that he was a longcoat. The picture the OP posted has the puppy fuzz evenly around the ears that is about the same length as the fuzz around the rest of the body, but no tufts starting that I can see, anyway.
@mirasmom - it is hard to tell with the picture you sent because the picture happens to have been taken so that there is a play of light and shade around her head, making it harder to see what is happening with the fur. Again, look for tufts as well as longer than other fuzz behind the ears and on the inner edge of the ears.

Also look for long tufts of hair between the toes. Thanks for sharing guys, needed a puppy fix. Terminally cute's... Nan

I still say stock then. ;)

Paula, I think possibly coated. Do you have pics between 2-3 weeks? That's my window. After that, I'm fallible. Between those ages I'm damn near infallible, LOL. My mentor taught me a little trick...hasn't failed me yet.
