Most breed registries will not recognize clones but the method by which breed registries can identify clones is less clear.  Most DNA testing for dogs and breed registries looks at only a few genes such that clones may be impossible to identify without a test costing many thousands of dollars.  Also there is some discussion that clones are not identical copies of each other or the donor dog.  Finally a question about animal welfare and suffering caused by cloning.
