Dog Trailer Recommendations - Page 1

Hello-

Would like some recommendations on dog trailer brands, I am looking at Elite K-9's 6 dog model.

I currently travel with a 4 dog WT Metall and a 6 dog Jones. Both have advantages and shortcomings. Jones, built like a tank, heavy, excellent ventalation. WT, light, you can get a radio, not as rugged. expect wiring problems, ventalation, (even with the upgrade is not all there.)

The one you are looking at seems to be a blend of both. More like the Jones in design with the WT construction w/storage on top. Price looks decent. Check the tires and see if they are a common size. The special order tires get pricy. How is the ventalation? Tongue weight is heavier than both of mine and I'll bet you a beer you cant roll it around as easy as it sounds in the ad. It would be good to see the inner doors and what hinges are used. The drain in each compartment is a great feature. Jones has it. WT comes up short in this dept.

Battery for the fan and charging system are something to consider. I have the Jones wired to the vehicle to charge. WT has the solar thing that goes bad immediately. The WT stops running the fan when the voltage drops so you can start your car. Jones runs it dead unless I unhook and run the aux. battery. Pros and cons to each system. Some may want to get a jump so their dogs are still alive, others may want their car to start so they can drive them to the hospital.

I have 25 gallons of water in the Jones which is great for the shows and travel in general. Haven't seen water in the WTs. I think the one you are looking at is less expensive than either. Especially if you read the ad and see where is priced a couple thousand less.
