Hello

I have a female german shepherd long coat dog that was born in germany but her father has only green not pink papers registered  to the SV Club because pf some problems in the registery of his ancestors so he could not have the pink papers , We do want to breed that female in Canada and the CKC insist to have the prove of ancestors of her dad to agree to it but can not be done by the SV as they said and now that means her litters won't have pedigree papers from the CKC ?

Any suggestions for whst is the solution for such problem ?

If the dog has green instead of pink papers from the German SV, it means only that at leastone of the parents does not have a breed survey, the ancestry is correct, it is just a formal thing.  Why does the CKC want proof of ancestry, the parents of your dog must have been DNAed and your dog can be DNAed also. your dog has official papers.

Hi,

What @bea said is correct.

I'm not sure why CKC is making fuss about color of the papers...both pink and green (white) SV papers should be good enough to register your dog with CKC as both types of papers are valid, except that green papers are issued to the litter where one of the parents did not have a breed survey (korung) completed.

If you have SV issued green (white) papers, IMHO you should be able to register your dog with CKC. If CKC makes fuss about that ask them to provide written explanation why they are refusing to register your dog with SV green (white) papers.

What is your dog's pedigree?

@abdelazeeme are the sire and dam registerd with the AKC?  Is the DNA on file with Geneseek?  Has your dog had DNA sampling done?  Is the DNA of the sire/dam and your dog, on file at Geneseek, held under the AKC, CKC, UKC or SV? There may be a way to do an end around on the CKC by going SV to AKC to CKC.

the CKC refuse to register the dam because there are no ancestors on the side of the sire but you provide a copy the ancestors and they refuse it.

and that is my female pedigree

May you tell us the names of the parents ( most important the father ) and make a copy of the first side, too? I can´t read it....

I know the AKC requires a certified pedigree from the foreign registry to transfer , I am sure the CKC requires the same.

It is the only way to 'try to' keep pedigree correct.

Sorry, just found your post...
This is kind of confusing, not easy to solve.

The motherline of your female is no problem, but on the fatherline it´s difficult.

For decades breeding longcoats wasn´t allowed in SV.
The breeder vom Elfenschlößle was member of ASVD ( longcoated German Shepherds ), he didn´t breed according to the SV rules. The "vom Elfenschlößle" dogs are not registered within SV.
The grandfather Campino, although offspring of SV registered dogs, was registered with ASVD, too.

Quirino, his son, father of your dog, was ASVD registered, too, ( same with the granddam Lissy )and when longcoats became allowed within SV, the breeder stopped his membership in ASVD and became member of SV. So Quirino was single registered in SV.

Really confusing...and I can guess only.

In your special case the main problem seems to be the ASVD registration of the dogs in the fatherline, I don´t know if ASVD uses DNA tests, I´m simply not used to their procedures.

You should try to contact kennel "vom Drachentor" - they seem to be the former "vom Elfenschlößle". Maybe they are able to help.
