Hi all,

I will be recently showing my dog at an SV organized show.

Could you please recommend any decent collar and leash which I could used to show my dog at this event?

Obvious choice for collar would be Herm Sprenger Sieger Show Collar - however I find it a little bit expensive....

Which ones do you recommend?

Thank you.

Your handler will have a leash they prefer and probably several collar choices.  I use a regular Herm Sprenger fursaver (a few sizes larger than their size for training/Schutzhund trial) and an 8' thin leather line.

I would speak with your handler as they usually have there own leashes and often do not like new leashes but rather prefer broken in leashes of various widths and lengths. They could also suggest which type of collar works best with your dog. At shows vendors are slso great to speak to so you can see the different types of leashes n collars

I would get a medium weight show choke chain with a 3/8" 6 foot leather lead so you can get dog used to it when training at home.  Handler will have his own equipment to use at shows or he may want to use what dog is used to.  So get what dog does best in at home and what dog is used to.  Good luck at shows  Nan

IMHO a regular fur saver would be great.  No need to waste money on a special collar just to show a dog.  I got my 3/8  leather leash from overdrive k9.  I was using one from a local pet shop and the snap was complete junk and the leather just felt cheap.  The leash from overdrive is super soft and a lot thicker than most leashes than I'm used to seeing.  I'm sure there are other places to get a good leash from like the people above me stated, but a good leash will last a life time.  Take it from me, don't buy junk the first time around
