How do you think I would go about setting up a database simalar to this one, but for Dachshunds? Because of space limitations, I decided to breed this little dog, but I don't want to do so blindly. There is not only no database, but when you ask about certain lines, and inbreeding practices of certain kennels, you get the cold shoulder. What are they hiding? And because of this lack of information, there is very little uniformity in litters. So I think we need a database, where you can actually talk about stuff. Ideas?

JThon, Your breed isn't the only cold shoulder. I have run into a lot of that where I live. I always ran into people saying you scratch my back and I'll scratch your's, and to ME it's not about all that, it's about trying to improve the breed and make it the way it use to be but better(temperament, structure, etc). I've been on this forum for almost a year now and consider myself a newbie, and I've been very fortunate to have really nice people that enjoy on sharing things and don't mind helping you out when they don't get anything out of it but a *Thank You*. That is why I'm going to stay on here and continue to learn. As for your question, you probably should contact Oli and maybe he can steer you in the right direction.

We have been working with a programmer for a couple of months building a pedigree database website for another breed. We also run a succesfull ads service for the same breed. We are interested in making available these services to other breeds. Please contact us at sonia@socket.net
