How many of you have used them?  Pros?  Cons?  Who makes the best ones?

Elite canine makes the best trailer and is offered at the best price. I have one and it is ver well built and fully loaded at a great price

I have had a jones trailer for years.  Love it.  Boxes are bigger than the thermos/WT trailers.  The suspension is far better as well.  WT/Thermo have a poor torsion Spring set up.  It is a bar inside of a tube with rubber between them and a lever that leads at an angle down and behind the axle that the tire mounts to.  The idea is that the tire can move up some as far as the rubber between the tube and axle allows it to rotate.  The range of motion is not much.    Watch (or better yet ride inside) one of them over a rough road. They will actually bounce to the point of the tires leaving the road.  The jones trailes-I have a tandem axle and would never have a single axle- have a walking tandem set up with leaf springs.  Far superior suspension that allows the tires to move better with the road and absorb bumps and jars rather than violently bounce.

We have an 8 dog Jones.  The holes are a perfect size for GSDs and 100lb American Bulldogs.  The only thing I'd say was be sure to go aluminum bc the steel rusts something awful.

We occasionally borrow a friend's Deerskin trailer, and I like it a lot...the holes aren't quite as big, but it's a very nice trailer.

I have a Jones Trailer, its built to last a very long time. We have it mainly as part of our hurricane escape plan.
We use it once or twice a year, when we take all the dogs to Colorado for a few weeks of camping and it works not only for transport but also to contain them for feeding and overnight. The dogs get excited when they see it hooked up to the truck.

The trailer we have doesn't have AC, which makes travel in summer months a bit more complicated. We have to travel at night and always have bags of ice in each compartment. Having to do it over again, I'd drop the extra $$ and get a model with AC.

Jones Trailers now come with a "superfan" option.  It is a 921 CFM (cubic feet/minute) Fan, which is ok to maintain temps in the trailer if you are careful.  I took out that fan and put in an aftermarket Jegs electric automotive cooling fan that pulls 2100 cfm.  Keeps the dogs cool and safe in all temps.  Has a variable speed fan control mounted in tack compartment so we can turn the fan up or down depending on weather.  At hight speed about three hours will drain a car battery.  I have a tongue box mounted on mine and put in a marine deep cycle battery that is charged from the trailer harness while the truck is running so it is always charged.  Now I get about 7 hours of high speed fan.  I also have a jump pack so I can always start the truck (just in case).

Ive talked to alot of people with A/C dog trailers and most would not put it on their next trailer.  Over cools the trailer (to 60 something degrees) and then the dogs come out to 90 plus and they just melt.  I weas told it 's too hard on the working dogs with the big temp swings in and out of the trailer.  Don't know if it's true but that's why I didn't put a/c in mine and just upgraded the fan.

I wouldn't trust AC to keep my dogs safe ever.  They fail too often for my taste.  One failure for 15 minutes on a hot sunny day and your dogs are done in those metal boxes. DUN!

I'd rather rely on good 'ol fashioned air flow and shade.  That's it.  So the dogs get warm some days, it's better than dead
