My research into PSA & other clubs uncovered the requirements for a WH title. I have never heard of it before and haven't seen it around pedigrees so am wondering if dogs are still evaluated for the WH and what clubs recognize/ test for it. It sounds like fun!

We did a number of them at our club about 2 years ago.  It has since been 'retired', I guess you could say from the titles offered by Schutzhund USA.  NWDA offers it now.  There will be NWDA testing at 2 American Bulldog shows in the Carolinas this year.

It was kind of a pain in the butt...all the BH heeling (on and off lead again) and had to have a number of set ups for the guarding portion (running line, kennel, etc).

In my area ( NC near Raleigh ) the local dog regulations automatically put you into the "commercial kennel" class if you mention or breath guard dog or watch dog training.  That means that even if you have less than 6 dogs and don't board dogs you still must meet boarding kennel requirements so I for one don't want to go there because the costs are prohibitive.  Sport dogs such as IPO and Modio Ring fall into a grey area for now but I expect in the future if a bite suit is involved you had better have privacy and keep it quiet unless you want to meet the requirements for a commercial kennel license.  IPO may have an advantage as the jute sleeve can be seen as a toy or appliance easier than a man in a bite suit or hidden sleeve which is what police training often uses.  I am in a regulated and policed county with both urban and rural situations but if you go 5 miles up the road there exists the same requirements but the more rural county does not inspect because they hire no inspectors.  That sounds better until you have a problem or draw attention to yourself accidentally or intentionally and then the state may get interested so you are never safe from scrutiny.  I guess the rule becomes we don't talk about guard dog club and the second rule is we don't tell customers or anyone else that we have guard dogs that we trained.  Even owning a guard dog may become a slippery slope as dangerous dog laws may kick in if someone gets bitten accidentally or on purpose be they friend or foe.
