Nearly 1 year old. (April)  Bottom 2 pics just for fun. :)

nice ear set, legs/upper arm seems short, heavy compact dog, may not display extended trot movement because of this, slightly overweight or maybe just thick coat, muzzle too short.

i don't know what i am talking about, nice happy looking active dog.

I can't offer a critique, but will say she looks quite substantial, with a lovely expression! Congratulations! jackie harris

She's a very nice looking dog but looks very overweight. At a year old that's very hard on her maturing joints.

Your dog is way too young to be so obese. This is hard on every part of her body and can take years off her life. Do her a favor and take all that excess weight off.

Greyhound Girl.

I agree, I have been worried about her weight, she is heavy but I wouldn't call her obese. She is a very powerful dog and is well muscled - I feed 3 cups of dry dog food per day divided into two meals and nothing else.  What feeding regime would you recommend.  I didn't think I was overfeeding..  My male is the opposite, he doesn't carry weight at all.  I will try cutting her down to 1 cup morning and night and see if that makes any difference.  Sometimes you need someone else to point something out that you have just grown used to :(   You know what they say, love is blind!!

Hi Runag,
Thanks for sharing!
She has beautiful markings and nice structure, her legs in front look short, but if she lost weight they would probably
look longer....
I feed my dogs about 3 cups of kibble a day and do raw feeding twice a week, 3 cups doesn't sound like overkill...
What dog food are you feeding her?
She does look quite stocky, she seems to move pretty nice, just keep that gal moving!
Has she been spayed?

Hi Paula

I feed James Wellbeloved Duck & Rice and raw once a week, she is not spayed.  However,  you may have hit the nail on the head. We have had such bad weather this winter - floods, gales etc.  and going on for much longer than we are used to that she probably has not been getting as much exercise as she needs.  I didn't even think of that element and of course as she is only young I didn't want to take her on long road walks. She would normally be outside in the field playing but that hasn't really been possible a lot of the time. Thanks for that - anyway I think we have established that there is too much weight on her so that will be addressed.  Weight apart, I like her structure too and appreciate all the comments - good or bad.  Nothing wrong with constructive criticism :)

New photos of a hopefully slimmed down Lexy will be posted in a couple of months.

Black & tan GSD female of medium size and strength. Correct proportions, slightly deep chest, but no worries there as I can see it is still well above the knee joint. Nice head and expression. Nice topline, normal withers, strong short back, good length and position of croup though tailset is a bit high. Very good hind angulation and good proportions of rear bones, good strong hocks, feet look tight. Nice underline, Straight front, good pasterns, lacks a bit in forechest development, short front upper arm and needs a bit more angle but shoulder blade lay is very good. A beautiful girl.
