HI GUYS,
I just read a bit of news stating that the GSDCA -Working Dog Association , headed up by Mr. Dan Yee,
is suing the GSDCA , (German Shepherd Dog Club of America) . Really?
I am a bit taken aback as I know that the GSDCA incurred over tremendous expense to support
the Working Dog Sport, and the 2013 WUSV World Trials. I believe that over 250,000. 00usd was spent and
the GSDCA STILL took a loss of in the neighborhood (I believe) of 100,000.00 usd?
I know myself, along with most in the GSDCA membership, certainly the Board and the Officers, are very happy and committed
to presenting ALL aspects of the great breed in the USA. Most of us own GSDs from both import and
US lines, and appreciate EVERYTHING AND EVERY VENUE in which these dogs compete. We were all
very excited to work WITH the WDA on hosting the World Trials...until it started to become obvious that
we were doing the giving , and the WDA was very clearly doing the taking? Really not fair, and not
very professional or even decent, to the outward observer.
I am very surprised and puzzled to learn , apparently that the WDA now wants even MORE money
from the very Parent Club (GSDCA) that made the WDA's hosting of the World Trials, even possible?
What about the expenses being accounted for first? What about a real look at what money the WDA
brought in , and how much of that went to help pay for , or pay back the GSDCA ? They came very willingly
to the Joint Board meeting to ask for money..all smiles...the GSDCA said "ok" LETS DO IT. Now
suits being filed? For what? Please someone explain ...because I am scratching my head , here.
Do we have an itemized accounting of all the money from anyone before demands are made on the GSDCA?
Where is the love ? LOL. Why can't we "all just get along" The GSDCA has MORE than done it's part,
and then some. Really , and it is fine, because we all love this great breed, and want to show case it.
But wow, a LAWSUIT?
I believe now that the AKC has also (YAYYYYYYY!
) recognized and endorses
the Working Dog Sport. (It was why the WDA was even formed b/c back then, the AKC did not want
any liablilty for the GSDCA in regards to this. Happily this has now had a great outcome for the GSDCA and
the AKC)
I mean I can't help but feel (speaking ONLY personally) that a lawsuit by the WDA and Mr Yee
against the GSDCA ..is a bit like "biting the hand that feeds you?"
Where is the gratitude to the GSDCA and it's membership that worked hard and spent a LOT of money
to put on the World Trial? This is very distressing to me, to see this divide.
I like people in the WDA!!!!
Now that GSDCA members or whomever can have Working Dog titles put right on AKC papers,
from the AKC....we are so excited!!!!
It would be great if the WDA would share our excitement and happiness for the decision
by the AKC and work WITH us..really I don't get it.
What a tremendous disappointment to see the news of a potential lawsuit, to see the news of the WDA suing the GSDCA... seriously? Really? UGH.
So needless.

i support good back yard breeders and "underground" training - the rest is just profiteering and feeding off the carcass of GSD legacy, i have no idea what wusv, gsdca, wda, bsp, sv.....blah, blah, blah even stand for, the whole lot could dissapear tomorrow and nobody i know would even notice.
i have slightly more extreme views than most.

Victory,
Actually I find this hilarious.
Not you or your opinion and the damage this is going to cause, but the fact that Dan Yee and the WDA are filing suit against the GSDCA.
I don't know the details of the suit but, honestly, I'm surprised it's not the other way around after all of the crap Yee pulled at the WUSV.
SMHS.

I'm curious where this information came from?

The GSDCA president.

Hi CLC29,
I have to tell you I was more than surprised at the news of this.
Honestly, I still don't understand why it is necessary. I don't think most people
, that being membership , on either side, knew this was happening.
A LOT of regular GSDCA members DONATED to help fund the hosting of the
World Tirials for the WDA. You know, middle income, regular dog loving people,
that support all aspects of the breed.
So any "warm fuzzies " and freindships that people have generated
betwixt GSDCA and WDA is severely at risk. I do NOT blame the WDA membership..
but wow WHO'S IDEA WAS IT?
I really am shaking my head..
Dan Yee..can he answer my questions? Please, someone, because this is
just ridiculous.

Dan Yee has changed the name of the WDA to, Whatta Douche Association! Is this guy serious?
I hope that the few of you who are left decide to get rid of this guy quickly.
Dan Yee and his cronies have destroyed your organization!
You should be filing suit against him!

I SAID it was going to be a replay of the Hindenburg! I cannot wait to read bubbabooboo's spin on how it is USCA'S fault!!!

by Hundmutter on 22 February 2014 - 10:02
Mystere, I am eagerly awaiting that contribution too !
BTW I did try to send you a PM, on the other (UScA/BOI) business,
but my attempts were rejected. I kept getting Error 400 msgs when
I pressed Send. Apparently the service could not cope with my "poor
syntax" ! First time a computer / web program has ever told me it
doesn't approve of my sentence construction !!! [ Maybe it was a
euphemism for "Too Long" ???] Anyway, it eventually swallowed my
carefully typed up msg altogether, and I had no heart to re-do it. Sorry.
