.. so how many breed wardens are in Pennsylvania, and how do they contribute to this new AKC WDS Trial? Anything?

by eichenluft on 15 January 2007 - 04:01

Breed Wardens are USCA members. I don't know if WDA (AKC) have any breed wardens. There are several USCA Breed Wardens and Tattooers in PA - ideally we would have one per club, but unfortunately that hasn't happened. molly

.. so how many breed wardens are there and how many clubs in the state of Pennsylvania?

by hexe on 15 January 2007 - 04:01

Why not check the United Schutzhund Clubs of America website if you want that information? http://www.germanshepherddog.com

..and who is going to judge these WDS Trials for AKC? Don't Breed Wardens first pick through the Parent Clubs, or will the Parent Clubs elect a member of the club? Do you know how this works?

I USED to be a USA breed warden & Asst. Tattoer, (for many years, in fact) but now that I am not a member of a LOCAL USA club (I still retain my USA membership) I am suspended as both. It sucks. I have a lot of experience to offer, but no legitimate position these days. Shelley Strohl

Shelley, we'll pick your brains dry if you let us. :) I like answers from experienced people. Expecially since you male is related to one of our girls. :)

I don't know anything about the AKC program - but USCA breed wardens are not judges, they are volunteers who are available to inspect litters of USCA-registered breeders and sign paperwork for USCA litter registrations. And USCA has nothing at all to do with the AKC working dog programs. molly

The AKC & GSDCA-WDA do not have breed warden programs yet, not do they have a solid tattoo program in place. I imagine that will come along in the not-too-distant future as they align more closely with the FCI and SV/WUSV, but as of now its EMFH (Every Man For Himself ;). Thanks for the kind words animules. I help where/when I can. Which one of your girls is my male related to? I assume you mean my stud dog Carol? SS
