Has anyone ever had any experience with this vet and the plans they offer? Everything seems good, and the plans they off almost seem, maybe a little too good. Let me know any positives or negatives. I just moved to Ohio and am trying to find the right vet for my dogs. www.Banfield.net Thanks!

Personally I would NEVER use Banfield here in FL. I have never heard anything good from them.

Overcharging, misdiagnosing, and charging for things that weren't done. e.g. friend of mine needed a health cert asap to ship her rottie to her hubby. They charged her for blood work that wasn't done. She had to demand proof of the blood work results, which they couldn't produce in order to get her money back.

A vet tech friend of ours used to work for Banfield. Find another vet, not a petstore chain vet. Call and interview some in the area, find out knowledge of GSD's. Ask on here if anybody in the area you're going to can recommend one.

I worked at Banfield as a vet tech and they are all about selling those plans! The have a specific script that you must learn and follow to answer questions and there is a sales quota on those plans. Once you get into a plan (or they get into your checking acct/credit card--they do dirrect debit)you will never be able to get out even if your dog dies! They have a poor radiology set up, well, the one I worked for did! They didn't have a x-ray table just a large animal, portable x-ray box. Positioned all dogs on the floor for x-rays and hopped for the best! And everything they do is so cookie cutter style. They just treat the symptoms with out treating the problem. Find a real vet that cares about his clients and their pets not Banfield that is all about the sales. Vickie

Wow! Thats what I was afraid with the big chain that they are. The plans sound great but Im not going to sacrafice quality. Thats too bad.

Definitly stay away from Banfield for all of the above reasons. I also know first hand they are only interested in the Money portion and not the welfare of your pet. Most of the Banfield Vets are flunkies who couldnt work at a real Vets office.

We just use Banfield for rabies shots, and only occasionally, if our own vet is too busy (he owns a 24 hour emergency and referral clinic). For other things, I would never use them.
