I just thought of this up just now... Potential fix for lazy slouchers - Page 1

You have the dog on the down and you call the dog to you. You tell the dog to fus where he is suppose to flip (or go around you) until he is sitting to your left side in a straight position. I've been having problems with having a nice clean sit without my dogs slouching over to the far left. It looks ridiculously sloppy until I thought of a way to fix this potential habit just a few moments ago as I was playing with my dog in the front yard. I would grab another leash and wrap the lead around my dogs abdomen near the hips. I can understand the potential injuries that this might cause for the dog, and so I decided that I would gently tug at the lead to prevent from causing any injuries to the abdomen area. A few sessions with this I find myself incredibly amazed how it immediately stop the lazy slouch. Granted I don't know if it's a permanent fix, but I'm going to give it a try.

If anyone did this in the past with positive results let me know.
 

I've found the best way (for me, anyways) is to gently tug up on the leash until the dog corrects into the proper position, then reward. After repetitions, the dog figures out that he gets his toy faster if he doesn't sit that way in the first place.

Blitzen, No I don't have a new dog yet :) I am still looking around thought :) I'm still have Amber and Anubis.... Zambi (whose now deceased) kids. I enjoy working with Amber the most :)
