Ramage

I'd be interested in opinions on this guy. He only received a Dobry, but he was only 14 months at the time. Critiques are welcome and also am curious what rating you all think he might acquire now. He needs ring training, of course.

If he has the fire in the belly he looks like a police dog to me with that build.  I have a unrelated male with a similar build and his puppies are not like him in most cases.  Your dog's sire was at Kreative Kennels for an apparently short time.  Might be worth looking in to why Kreative didn't keep him around longer as they keep some of their best studs around for a long time indeed.  Kreative also sometimes has a new stud and he disappears off the batting order after just a few litters so that I reckon they see something they don't like??  The fathers sins should not be visited on the son but not a bad idea to know the history of your new boy's family tree as that may be helpful in the future.

I like his topline.......croup is nice and long but may be a bit steep.
How does he work?

he has a unique "face" the prolonged structure is very appealing and makes him look....hmm...what’s the right word? ...sophisticated?... Intelligent?...oh, i got it...he looks very British. :)
I love the way he looks...

LF, I thought the same thing! LOL

Ramage, I like him. Even if he isn't ideal to the standard (whatever that is these days...) he's definitely pleasing to the eye structurally. I don't see why he shouldn't get better than a VD or SG or whatever now.

I don't have all that much respect for Kreative...so I would want to know why his sire was dumped early into his "career" but it wouldn't necessarily be a dealbreaker that he was.

LF - I hope not !  Head is too long and a bit narrow and 'snipy' -
one of those GSDs that reminds me of Rough Collies.  Not
sure how that makes him look 'British'.

Sorry Ramage, he is too long altogether, not just the head but in
his body proportions, for me to rave over him  -  JMO.
But I'm sure he is a lovely boy as an individual dog.  How is his
working ability ?  He isn't a bit overshot, is he, that might explain
his long nose (as it does on my dog) ?.

I actually like his head. It's one of the things I like most about him. In fact, I owned a Collie for many years and don't think his head is anything like that LOL. Just my opinion, though. If anything, I sort of think it's more round and globe like than should be.

I don't think Falko was ever owned by Kreative. If he was, that's news to me. Falko, to my knowledge, has always been overseas. There are a lot of people that rave about Falko. This is my first Falko progeny, so I cannot speak much on that matter. Kreative looks to have had two litters by Falko, but I am not sure if that's because Falko was here for a short time or if they went to Germany for the breedings. Perhaps they imported the bitches pregnant?

LF, I love that! British. I will never look at him the same, again.
Jenni I agree structure in the breed tends to be all over the place. I sort of like that he is a bit unique.

He works like a beast. His confidence is through the roof and his drives are high without being extreme. He's got a great off switch in the house and is sociable in public, yet protective at home. His grip is beautiful and hard. There's really not much I don't like about him. I could pick at a few things, but they are training related and he's getting better every session out.

Maybe he's more like a melon head. I can see that nickname catching on.

I agree what makes his head unique is more the top than his muzzle. His muzzle is normal enough if you take it alone, but look at his eyes in relation to his head shape; there is more "head" between his eyes and ears than "normal" and I think that's what gives him his different look. He's a tad long in the body, but I've seen way, way, way worse rated at Dobry, or G, thus my guess that he could well go SG/VD with proper handling.

I think he's a nice looking dog overall and kind of like his uniqueness. People say Capri has a very distinctive face as well. I like it.

Ramage

That's what I see, too. The muzzle is average. The skull and forehead is more prominent and he has more space between the eyes.

He was 14 months and very, very, very lanky. I'm assuming this is why he got a D instead of a VD. Obviously, he has matured and widened out now. After his IPO1, I will try for a breed rating and see what happens. I'd do one now just for grins and giggles, but they're all so far away from me it's not worth the drive, hotel, gas, etc if it won't count for a breed survey.

I like Capri's head, from what I remember of him. Pretty boy.
