Can someone give me a good estimate how much shipping would be on a 12 week old gsd pup from Germany or Hungary to the Southern US? Jennifer

by gsdlvr2 on 27 December 2006 - 00:12

should be under $400.00 USD, if they don't puddle jump, could be less, alot depends on connecting flights

by Uvar on 27 December 2006 - 00:12

You will have to book a direct flght, some destinations in USA have direct flights from Frankfurt. Euro 400.- from Germany for one puppy, if you are getting two puppies it will be about Euro 450.- for both, and that includes the purchase of the crate. Lufthansa is your best airline, however, winter restrictions may apply. You can also pick up your puppy and fly it back with you in the passenger cabin, providing the puppy does not exceed the size and weight limitations of the Sherpa Bag. Puppy will remain zipped up during take-off and landing, otherwise, it is allowed to stick its head out. The Sherpa Bag is a soft bag, a special carrier which fits under your seat. Puppy must not be fed 8 hours prior to take-off, with the ten (approx.) hour flight, you will need to feed it upon arrival! Hungary shipping costs may be another matter. Since you have to pay the shipping cost and cost for crate to the breeder, you could have an inflated price. Some breeders in the Scandinavian countries and other European countries may also charge inflated prices.

The puppy we shipped in from Germany to Seattle Washington was 360 Euro, or about $475. That was last February.

Hey Americans - visit Europe if you buy puppy. Return ticket value is like you pay shipping and as Uvar tell you can pick up your puppy and fly it back with you in the passenger cabin for free. I think that you will have great adventure if you visit kennel and be guest and turist in "old" Europe.

I visited Germany many years ago after my husband died and I ate in the pubs and found Germany and Holland and Switzerland very beautiful country and the only things that scarred me im Germany was the soldiers with gums marching in the streets as France was on a rampage with that ship out in the ocean that I almost didnt take the trip because it was such an international concern but I made it home. We did the chicken dance in the pubs and got a lot of attention 8 ladies from Texas...That was before I was in the germans shepherd ownership.

amir, One day we would like to come visit. During the BSP would be a nice time. :) That is some years out yet. In the meantime we make contacts and new friends. And have managed to find and purchase some nice dogs. Tina

Animules is pretty correct about 350 - 360 euros for puppy with small crate from Frankfurt.
