For all the breeders here don't sell any of your puppies/dogs to K-9 International (http://www.k9international.org/) This is just flat out sicking what their doing to their dogs. Add this company to your blacklist. My local news is doing an investigation against the company.

Go to their link to watch their investigation.

Local 10's investigation continues into a Florida rent-a-dog company

What's even more sicking is that the owner of the company refuses to do an interview... Why? What is he hiding?

Good reporting.....bad for the dogs. My God I would think that there would be better housing for the dogs during the day even if it was in a crate in AIR CONDITIONING.

Barb, That's not all.

The owner of this company, Gus Artiles, had all of his dogs confiscated in 2010 for nelecting to provide adequate vet and general care for his dogs.

Who should care for 18 confiscated dogs? Owner expected to have his say in court today

This is heart breaking, poor dogs. Why have the places they protect, not set up proper yards?

The commercial guard dog business is usually serviced and
set up by the company. Most of the business' that employ the
services of the dogs don't know diddly about dogs period.

The company will usually have a system set up so that the business
owner/employee can simply tug a line to 'release' the dogs from the
kennel once they are all closed up. The individual can do this from
outside the fenced yard for safety reasons. Then, sometime prior to
the business opening in the morning, an employee of the guard dog
business will come around and secure the dogs back in their run.
Food and water is usually replenished at those times, or should be,
and the kennel is cleaned as well.  The kennel set up pictured in that
news story is disgusting. There are much better ways to safely enclose
a kennel set up for the dogs that will prevent the customers and staff
from getting bit, and still allow for ventilation!  It is customarily the sole
responsibility of the business owner to 'dog proof' their facility, the
guard dog service will usually provide the kennel run, food, water and
staff to maintain the dogs. The dogs are supposed to be checked on
daily, at least a well run reputable service will do this.

Gus has a long and very sordid past in the working dog world. This is
certainly not the first time he has been called to task for inhumane
treatment of dogs, and sadly, I doubt it will be the last.
Perhaps Gus should spend a day or two in one of his enclosed kennel set ups?

I posted this to fb to have a friend who is actively involed in dog issues and lives there. Most likely the guy will just move on to somewhere else and set up shop again.

Well it's a money making business for himself, not giving a damn about the health and well-being of the dogs, sick bastard.Angry Smile
