Hi All Does anyone have any ideas on this tattoo# H2509 or who the breeder might be? A young Bi-color male approx. 8mo (workingline) was dropped in a drop box at a kill shelter near Madera, Calif. He is now in a foster home. I was asked to post this info. He has 1 dropped ear so they think he was dumped because of this. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Show breeders may be able to help identify the Tatoo, Or maybe Judges ?? Also who keep track of those Tatoo's I don't know AKC, ?? I would love to know what the outcome is on where to find the info on Tatoo's becaus we now and then get dogs at our shelter with Tatoo's. But Rarely.

NOT a USA tattoo. Probably either European orsomething someone came up with on their own, but check with USA and WDA for record, just in case it was recorded for a scorebook application at some time. Most German tattoos have two letters and a hyphen these days. (EX: X-A2333) Are you sure you can see the whole tattoo? This is why every puppy I produce will be micro-chipped before it lwaves home, with ME as the irrevocable primary contact. I hope you can find the poor guy's breeder... AND that the breeder takes responsibility seriously and welcomes his "puppy" home! May I cross-post your inquiry on other GSD lists? Good luck, SS

I have already posted on 3 other web boards but if you want go right ahead and post anywhere. I did inform them to call USA and WDA. Thanks for the help. All info can go to zoebdraughon@hotmail.com

I would also contact the regional directors for both org's, and the surrounding regions (some awful neighbor may have transported the dog out of their area, and Madera is just north of the division between North and Southern CA regions) in that region. They often know most of the breeders in their jurisdiction, and who has toattoo kits/tattooes (sp?) their pups, "officially" or otherwise, and should be willing to help. They may well KNOW the dog, too! Also, check with clubs. The helpers & training directors are very likely to know the dog AND the asshole who dropped him in the kill box. It would give me a warm, fuzzy feeling to learn that the coward(s) responsible were publicly humiliated within the sport community... OR that the actual owner was reunited with their missing dog. USA Reg. Dir. for Madera is Peggy Park: 209-869-3647. Not much gets by Peggy and/or husband/helper Gary Park. Ask her to mention it at club training. Their members go everywhere...

alot of vets and clubs in Texas have not readers to tell about the microchips. Unless the person that the dogs belongs to has done some training it may never be known who owned the dog either way sometimes ends up a dead end,,...thats literal guys!!!! surely if someone went to the trouble to tatoo they would be looking for their dog.....stupid if they threw it away because of a flopped ear someone would take a pet with floppy ears gladly. What is a kill box anyway?
