How fortuitous was that, they were both up to 'T'  ?  So you have
dogs actually registered as    ' Tosca  v. Rommelsbach',  and
'Tyson v.  Bitburgland'. ?  Wow, what odds would you give on that
happening,  SupaK ?  Cool.Clown

[Bit disappointed you liked Tyson as a name though, tee hee.]

von and vom are the SAME thing.  Which one you use depends on the gender of the noun in the prepositional phrase, so you do not *pick* von or vom.  If you pick wrong it will look/sound very silly. Find a German speaker to help.

I have never quite understood why some breeders in the UK and USA feel the need
to Von or Vom in their kennel names.

The French, Dutch, Italians etc all use their own languages;  why do 'we' copy
the Germans instead of using "of", "from the", etc ?

I don't breed but for the sake of having a title on my dogs' web site I made up a name that could be used as a kennel name and it's Dutch, because I am Dutch.  I don't really care what people use as long as they use it correctly otherwise it just looks silly.  I'd honestly have a hard time buying a dog from a kennel with a name that was not grammatically correct!
