LaPorte, Thank you for pointing out maxi's statement. I thought it helped reinforce what we are trying let people know. The last thing I want to do is tear the sport apart. It is issues like the ones we are trying to share that will tear the sport apart. When members feel shut-out and have no say, that is when members stop participating.

My DVG War Story: I vowed to avoid the DVG forever the day Onyx & I were "awarded" 2nd Place in the 1997 National FH Championship... beat out by a local-club Rottie that took the cross track on the first leg, hitting the end of the line, hard, THREE TIMES, with "strong leash correction" (read: immediate disqualification) allowed a restart from the actual track, BEYOND the cross track, with a few more point-costly mistakes before and after... There was a greasy fast-food bag, freshly discarded, food remnant still inside (even I could smell it was a burger!) about a foot and a half to the side on one leg of my track... no breeze to blow it from elsewhere. My dog checked it quickly, not leaving the track, cowered ever so slightly ("Uh UH! Not ME! I'm ONYX and I'm USED to "set-ups" like this one!" Other than leaving the scent pad slightly sooner than I would liked to have seen, and taking about 1/3 of the first leg to "settle" into a consistent speed (typical Onyx, not worth trying to fix when the conditions were too easy and his handler was a little nervous) my dog did a beautiful track: deep nose, super concentration, "pencil-perfect" turns, correct indications (except for one slightly under his chest, but still "correct" according to the rules) no attention to x-tracks... Insult to Injury: We took home a small plastic luggage tag (no inscription, just event logo)... NO TROPHY for Second Place, or so I was told... Maybe they didn't have any funds leftover after having the big, beautiful hardwood and etched glass trophy engraved (perhaps in advance??? LOL) I believe the SchH 1, 2, and 3 events featured similarly beautiful trophies down to at least 5th... and a few for various other "High-in-XXX's" as well. Admittedly: Had there been an award for Good Sportsmanship, it would NOT have been presented to me... especially after letting my hot, tired dog cool off... in the Host Hotel pool. :-D They sent Dildei out to evict me from the premises. ROTFLMAO Shelley I keep the luggage tag they gave us upon check in on my rear-view mirror. LOL Shelley Strohl

Shelly, Many years ago I attended a high level horse show with the same situation. First 6 places went to the host groups members, even ones that had not walked into the arena. :) Politics can effect all sports. Hopefully members will read and help regain control so these types of situations stop happening.

Would love to see an annual club report and have it published - for parts related to this thread, regarding club trials Number of club entrants Number of club passes Number of outside entrants Number of outside passes Wouldn't tell all, but would be interesting.

If you were really interested, you might have looked there. I doubt you have any real interest, though. Your question, that is totally irrelevant to the topic, is simply a diversionary tactic. Frankly, I don't intend to discuss this any further with cowardly trolls who won't identify themselves. Nia

Ooops....left out that the "there" is the club website, where the entries, club affiliations and results have ALWAYS been consistently listed. Nia

I meant clubs in general, sorry. I have seen many clubs that have results like Shelley and animules wrote about (overtly political and biased). I am very impressed with your club website AND how thorough everything was presented - I did read it all. I completely didn't make myself clear.........sorry for the confusion.

"I have NEVER seen such behavior from an organization's official, even in a dog club." (mystere) I saw a t-shirt once that read "God made dogs, and the devil made the organizations." Pretty sad when corruption and bad behavior are so pronounced that people start putting it on t-shirts.

FCSC, Thank you for taking the time to read the complete package presented. please note my comment about twisted club sponsered events was a horse show. I was not saying I had seen that at our club trial or any other area club trial we have attended. It was just an example that it is not a problem just with in one organization.
