I still think she's a pretty bitch for what she is, an Amer line. Everyone has their own likes, and I've always felt like if you don't have something nice to say, say nothing at all. Most people on this board are fanciers of the German bred dogs hence some of the comments on her. I started out with the Am showlines in the '80s so am used to this type of dog. But have had the European lines since the 90's.

I totally disagree, CMills (big surprise, lol). I think Linda was very diplomatic and her concern rang true to me, as well. I don't ever partake in the bashing of dogs threads, but Linda's comments made a point that I think does need to be said. That stack pic made the dog look way too extreme to be healthy. The last pic Xeph posted looks like a normal American line dog to me. Big difference in perception and will affect how the dog, and the line, and the breed, ultimately, is perceived publicly.

yes Jenni, just what I said, per your post you said the last pic posted looks like a normal American line dog, same as what I'm saying. I said she's a pretty bitch for what she is, an AM LINE. We all have our own likes/dislikes, thats what makes the world go 'round.

Meh, I'm not offended regardless.  I have at least one of each line currently residing in my house :p

All three of my bitches are related, and I find they are all similar and different in various ways.

Of the three bitches pictured on the last comment made by Xeph, I LOVE the middle girl.  To ME she looks the most correct before picking her apart.  She is stack in a more natural GSD stack. Not over stacked in any way.  She has a gorgoues outline and is in MY opinion an eyecatcher!!!   The  only thing I will be specific about is the comment about her hocks.  She is still young and may grow into her hocks.  Everything else on her without being very critical, flows together.. I LIKE HER VERY MUCH!!

Xeph, thank you for being a person that can accept all opinions. I was not trying to bash the dog, I could see her potential in her, but she just wasn't presented right. Presentation is about 60% of the total package. If a dog isn't presented correctly, it will always be at the end of the line.  I really like your girl! Good luck with her and PLEASE keep us posted.

I'm glad you were not offended. I wasn't trying to be offensive.

And just in case you didn't catch it, Hutchins, that girl in the middle you like is the same as the girl in the first picture :)

I will be getting more pics tomorrow, so be sure to check back some time :)  Thank you for all the comments, positive and negative.

My thing about critiques is that I am totally open to opinions, even if they are not similar to mine.  I only get upset when people are outright rude, and don't have a single positive thing to say (there are very few dogs in existence that have nothing positive about them).

Pardon her wagging tail.  She is constantly happy xD

A very dark black and tan dry GSD bitch of beautiful color, strong pigment and strong bones, stretched in body but chest depth to height is very good. Nice feminine head of correct planes, proportions and good earset, slightly long neck, beautiful high long withers, very good straight back but slightly long, long loin, well placed croup which is slightly short, good tail and tailset, a clean front, slightly steep and short upper arm, good placement of shoulder blade, fore chest development could be better, very good pasterns and tight feet, good underline, deep hind angulation, hocks slightly long, again very good and tight rear feet. A beautiful girl of outstanding dryness, pigment, withers, bones, pasterns, feet and straight topline. At the moment, and that could change as she matures, she lacks correct proportions (neck to body and height to length), also lacks correct hind bones proportions and fore chest development to balance with the deep rear. I imagine as she grows up and gains more muscles her balance and proportions will improve a lot, also hind bones could balance as hock length sets right as other bones finish their growth and get additional muscle cover. Would love to see how she looks after 10 months.

Thank you, Ibrahim :)  She certainly won't be out and about showing for awhile ;)  She really is all over the place (pretty typical for her lines).  Very slow maturing.  She'll definitely look very different in the next year.

Interesting comment about her neck.  Never heard that before.  Always glad to hear about what others see that I may not.
