What is the difference in these two dogs? I am buying a puppy from Ulko litter and I am just very curious. I looked at both dogs and they are both great. Kaiser

Ulko is Ulk's sibling but he cannot match Ulk in either aspects of anatomy or breeding! Ulk is far superior and has some good progeny. But Ulko has also been doing well, so it's better we don't compare high rated dogs to their underdogged siblings.

agree with Anu, Ulk far superior

Those siblings can make good surprises, take the exemple of Palme Wildsteigerland, the female that is considered the best mother in the last twenty years was a sibling of a VA female, well I dont even remember rigth now the name of this VA female! The best in the litter in terms of anatomy may be the second when we analise the progeny!

Ulk's progeny are exceptional in work and conformation. THis is already proven. NO waiting on that. Ulk has far superior conformation and work. Ulko has had a hard life up until now and did not perform well in work. Charlie has done wonders with him in a very short amount of time. Which proves the genetics are still in there. Ulko's progeny, although very young, at the 2006 NASS all placed 1st or 2nd in their classes. Very nice dogs! You should do very well with your puppy! Good luck! Debby

While Ulk is certainly more masculine and substantial, and has a better front assembly as well as croup, do not discount Ulko. He is a very good dog with strong drives. One concern is the upper arm which should be longer and better angulated. His progeny are slightly steep in front with few exceptions. He produces very well with well angulated bitches. Drache Feld has done well with him on their Dux daughter Waleria Fiemereck.

Hi, i just have a litter after Ulk and the pups are very promesing. Matter of fact i kept a male & female. Ulk to me seems to me more masculine than Ulko. Never met Ulko in person, but did meet Ulk at the mating of my bitch. A absolute stunning dog, open minded and "clearheaded" and of a colour to die for ! Plus his Schutzdienst peformance is outstanding, just a great dog. Kind Regards Ulli Dresbach

It's always nice to see 2 or more excellent representatives from the same litter, it's a good indicator of their promise for producing well. As Jose pointed out in the case of Palme and Perle, the more celebrated sibling is not always the best producer, but I believe that to be the exception to the rule. Some recent examples are Erasmus & Esto van Noort, Negus & Naxos Holtkämper See. It's no secret that Ulko has had questions raised about his temperament. His failure to show at the 2006 W.D.A. Sieger Show after and out of control performance at the 2006 U.S.A. Sieger Show for whatever reason only adds to the speculation. Ulko produced some nice progeny in Europe and is being used in the U.S. Time will tell if he gets to breed some of the better females in the states and how well he will produce.
