If someone was looking for a top schutzhund prospect, where would the search begin? Which lines and breeders have produced the champions? And would you purchase an older dog like 6 - 12 months old , or go for a 10 week old pup?
Thanks in advance to all who respond?

I would start with a green dog. 12 to 18 months old, The search would begin in Belgium, Germany and Denmark. Would look for the individual dog and not a particular kennel or bloodline. Chances are the dog will come from lines that are familar to sport. Take a look at the results from the FCI, WUSV and BSP Championships. You will see a handful of dogs produced a high percentage of the top competitors. Asko Lutter, Aly vom Vordersteinwald, Timmy and Troll von der bösen Nachbarschaft, Yoschy von der Döllenwiese, Tom van't Leefdaalhof and Orry von Haus Antverpa.
