If anyone can help please contact ahome4spot@gmail.com or call Diana 702 239 7986

please pass this on, so she can go serve our country in peace.

I am in the Military, I will be stationed overseas as of July 10. I have 3 dogs that I am heartbroken to
give up, but I don't have a choice now. I won't have a house for 1-2 years and
dogs aren't allowed in the dorms. I have tried finding them homes on my own,
since I really wanted to find people willing to communicate with me here and
there, but I know now I need to find another alternative since time is getting
shorter. I have Erica, a harlequin Great Dane (7 years old) female. Her
parents are both champions and age well without any medical histories of
hip/eye/heart related issues. Her mom is 9 now and still actively showing, but
Erica could never be shown due to an over-bite. I've had it evaluated by a
specialist and she has no special needs due to it. Spanky is my little male
shih tzu, 8 years old. He is my rescue…I got him from a group that shut a pet
store down. He was 5 months old and had never been outside of a kennel. He is
a very sweet and submissive dog, never growls and only barks when you're opening
the front door to come home. He just likes to snuggle and chew his pigs ears.
He and Erica are both very social, you could take a bone or food from them and
they would just wag their tails at you. Last of all is Daisy, my Maltese-Shih
Tzu mix. She is 9 and very much the lap dog. I can keep them until I leave on
the 10 (so until the 9th) but any help or suggestions you might have would be
greatly appreciated. These have been my babies and family for a long time, they
mean the world to me. It really breaks my heart to let them go, but I'd rather
find them stable and happy homes instead of foster care until I can have them
again. I want whats best for them. Again, thank you for reading and I hope to
hear from you soon!

PLS read the copy for the info

the dogs do not belong to me, this was posted on my facebook page thru a friend.  Its reliable as I have only a few fb friends, only those I know and respect, not a b-zillion like some.   thank you!

I did read and I am in Vegas. To my knowledge this is a rescue and didnt want to refer the owner to the Dane rescue if the dog is currently with another one. Im sure the dane rescue would take the dane. I'm not sure where you are but its really hard to place dogs with the foreclosure crisis as thousands are being dumped. Many of the rescues now are not even taking dogs from the public because the shelter is so bad off.

If the owner needs the dane number I can look for it.

Hi Barb,  i understand that Vegas must be hellish now to place a dog.  this is probably why she finally started using FB.  Her tel nr is on the top above the picture so is her email.  There are two more small breed older dogs which she also has.

Don't know your situation or all the facts but I was in the Military, single and had a pair of Chows, (had two litters) for 17 years. Chose to live off base and on the Economy just to make sure I kept my pets. Why is it that you can't stay the initial 45 days in Barracks to inprocess and OJT with new job and move off base after your transistion to PCS?

alboe2009, guess I'm an insensitive witch for feeling this way, but for heaven's sakes--if someone joins the military and KNOWS they're probably going to be stationed, or possibly even deployed, overseas at some point in their career, WHY would that person get not one, but THREE dogs, and not have rehoming or fostering arrangements made IN ADVANCE, so they weren't running up against a wall like this at the last minute??  It's not like being sent overseas is some kind of *surprise* if you're in the military....

That said, I do hope the person with the three dogs is able to place them safely, either permanently or as fosters, before leaving.  I'm sure the Vegas shelters are full to overflowing, just as so many others are....

That' why I wouldn't adopt to military for this very same reason. I have NO tolerance for this and I'm not called a witch but a b*** * for it. Ive been sent nasty ugly emails because I refused to adopt to military. I personally think its selfish and it goes on here all the time.

hexe and Bhaugh,
I feel/felt the same way (just trying to be nice I guess?) I just don't comprehend or understand why the OP chose this path? I would never part with my dogs, any breed, unless death to one of us. I went overseas, Germany, and it was a sight flying there and flying back. Cart rolling two large crates, dogs, food, luggage, suitcases, briefcase, orders, camera, the works. And all the commotion, everytime their crates came up with them inside ready to see me and all the howling and barking etc., etc. The irony was not too many Germans had seen Chows in the area I was stationed; Stated they were little bears! But 17 years, stateside and Europe, everywhere that I was or went!  Just don't understand....

This dog will be better off in a new home, don't you think? Not every one cares enough about a dog to inconvience themselves in any way.

Maybe the breeder of the Dane can take the dog back?
