http://www.worldk9.com/knpv.htm

i did manage to find this list of rules and scoring for knpv on the net.  does anyone know if these things are correct or if they have been changedf?

i'm not sure that the knpv organization in the netherlands would even allow a branch of their organization in another country.  it could be that an entirely independent organization would have to be formed and then become a member organization of the awdf and the fci. does anyone know anything about this?

ziegenfarm, I can`t open you link.

But when I was looking for the rules, I found this:

http://www.cass.net/~w-dogs/knpv.htm

And there are some interesting articles (for those who think KNPV is interesting):

And some video:

Sorry, can`t open YOUR link. It`s time to go for a walk with my GSD and he`s being naughty. I`d better be going...

It's not like they have a patent on the training / trial excercises.  Remember that 1936 Schutzhund flick, demonstrating a bicycle takedown?  What role would make the awdf or fci's involvement necessary?  Politics would ruin it.  And, you don't even need pedigree papers in knpv, right?

So are there actually any KNPV clubs here in the States?

The story that I got (from a guy that's got a KNPV line Dutchie-GSD cross) is that KNPV came to the US a few years ago but the guys who brought it over were only doing it for money rather than for bettering the dogs - and this left a bad taste in the Dutch people's mouths....which is why you dont see a whole lot of KNPV handlers/judges/helpers over here.

But dont take that as gospel - sadly - it's just kind of one of those 'I heard this story' things.

Yep, I haven't heard much about KNPV in the U.S.

There was a couple videos on KNPV and GSD by Frank Stommel, breeder and KNPV judge that were posted several months back

Here's the link: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/154291.html

Also this website had a lot of links on the subject.  http://www.van-brandevoort.nl

I do not know much about KNPV although my dog has about 6 or so in his pedigree.  I do know that the training is intense and takes several years for a dog to get trained to the level of PH1.  Plus there are only a few certifications each year.  Sounds very difficult. Would it fly in the USA.  WHo knows, not for the average dogsport enthusiast. Amazing dogs.
