If this is a German Shepherd, I would say sable...But if this is another breed that was accidently postede on the GSD forum, I have no idea.

Hi sorry yes purbred german shepherd. From an outcross breeding, father was sable with majority of dogs in pedigree sable, mother a black and tan grandsire bi color, granddam solid black.

Most likely sable.
Sables are SO much fun to watch change.
Regardless, cute pup.

Probably a lot like this comparison.  The black tips of the sable hairs will become longer over time, producing a darker effect.

Hmmm, interesting.  Earlier on today, when I first looked, I would have said "sable", possibly a rather washed-out one.
Then I saw there was apparently no 'pencilling' on the front paws, and wondered if what had been acheived here instead was the mix that results in what I have heard referred to as  a "golden Shepherd";  i.e. self-tan body + black mask.
(Usually an indication that 'something else' has crept in.)
Now other people have posted their, eventual, sables, that worry seems to have been addressed !
I have seen quite a few baby sables, so am aware of how they alter as they age;  but it was always evident they were, or would grow up to be 'grey dogs'.   I never saw one precisely the colour of the OP's, assuming it looks exactly as pictured in the flesh.

Its amazing how the sables develop.. some are born blonde (light) with a stripe down their back that actually spreads and they become darker.. and then the black and tan are born darker and become lighter as they grow! It fun to watch a sable mature! Cute pups!!The black sables are of course born darker than a red sable.. but it still neat to watch their color change practically overnight!

PeterC should look in on this post;  the changes on the black&red/saddleback/blanket back/ bi-colour spectrum are as nothing compared to sables !
