i have a female who has come into heat unknowingly (no outward signs)until she started to flag with no intrest from 2 males. so a couple of days goes by and here we have a never bred female and a male who has bred a few times. he has mounted a few times but never seems to really get it on. she has been flagging and standing now when the 2 males really start to show more interest she seems less interested so i have to males who think they know when and a female that doesnt seem to think they are right. SO WHO IS RIGHT MOST OF THE TIME ANY INPUT IS NEEDED

Bigbrother, is this perhaps a false heat? These are not very common but they do occur. Is her vulva swollen with obvious discharge? Make a visual examination to ensure that her reproductive system is in good shape; the odour/colour/thickness of the discharge (if any) and condition of the outer tissue of the vulva. Past that, you may want to take her to the veterinarian just to rule out the presence of an infection. Bob-O

Bigbrother, I should have answered the rest of your question. Typically, an experienced male is correct, as he is usually the most randy and has the battle scars to prove it. Hard lessons learned with tough bitches. Bob-O

NO DISCHARGE AT ALL NOT ONE TIME. ALSO SHE HAS BEEN CHECK EVERYTHING IS FINE NO INFECTION OR WHAT NOT. HE IS NOT BEING AGRESSIVE ENOUGH. MY OTHER MALE ON THE OTHER HAND I AM SURE WOULD HAVE BY NOW BUT HE IS CZECH AND SHE IS SHOW.

Although, most males are a pretty good indication .. there are those females that are not standing for it until the time is ready!! I have a working female the sweetest thing ever and she about ate that boy when he tried it.... had only done a vag smear and we thought it might be too early.. 2 days later, she was a true hussy and allowed everything to happen, no I should say she solicited and MADE it happen... Males tend to lose their minds (like the other male species, sorry couldn't resist, all you guys out there)... so they are not always accurate... willing, but maybe a bit premature.. I would say if you have no discharge, she is not in heat..how has she been checked?? Vaginal smear, urinary analysis?? A UTI will also often incread the males interest.... Just a thought

1. you can make blood progesterone tests 2. you can take female vaginal specimen and on microscope overlook situation 3. when you determine target days you can parallel probe interest of experienced male 4. try to mate with a help of experienced person or do insemination with a vet help

This almost does sound like a false heat. I would say your vet should see her to determine for sure though.

Lose our minds, huh? Must be caused by concussions from all those beatings with the iron skillet. Bob-O
