hello i need some help if my beautiful girl is dutch shepherd - Page 1

hi everyone please i need some help i found my beautiful pup in a feild hardly any fur bad fleas lots of blood from where something had attacted her she was around 4 months old and i am trying to find out if she is a dutch shepherd or one mixed with something someone said she looks like one she is now 1 yr 7 months and is the best dog anyone could ask for very loyal protective playfull and so funny her facial expressions are so intelegent its as if she is a human in a dogs body lol i just would like to find out alothough i do not mind because i love her all the same i have more photos if needed

From those the pictures it is hard to tell.  She looks like a very dark brindle, almost black. Is this accurate? She sure is very pretty and she sounds like a wonderful dog. I guess she could be a Dutchie. She's got white on her back paws, which makes me think she could also be a GSD or Dutchie mix. You can do a DNA test to find out.   I've heard mixed reviews on those tests as far as accuracy goes, but it is probably worth a try.  Good luck with her and bless you for rescuing her.

I want to add that it is possible for a purebred Dutchie to have white on the paws, but it is not real common.  Purebred GSDs can have white on their paws as well, but again, it is not common.
 

She looks like Malinois as well
I have a dark malinois, and your looks like it could be a Mali x Dutchie.
Whatever she is, She is beautiful :)

From what i see, and the pix are not really very clear. No, not a dutchie. Black shepherd mix yes, but the dutch sheps are built different. Next to a GSD or a Mal they really do look different. And i've seen tall dutchies, curlie coated, long coated, smooth and they have a different head shape. Still a herder head but different from a mal or GSD.
Most likely she is a nice shepherd mix. Have fun with her.

We've had two Dutchies in our family and the first one had a head very similar to a GSD. He was quite a large Dutchie too. THe second one was disinctly different than a GSD. Then again, GSDs have a variety of head shapes too. I'll try to scan some photos tomorrow if I can find them. That said, I think Belinda is some type of shepherd mix.
