I worm my dogs every 6 months
I'm using ADVOCATE for all parasites so don't need to use it as often, and DRONTAL tables every 6 months :)

Like most others have posted I alternate between Strongid (Pyrental), Panacur, and Ivermec every 3 months or so. The only break thrus I've seen upon fecal exams (lab tested, not Vet snap or flotation test) has been tapeworm occasionally.
