I would not worry about the BUN and CREA values because they are not all right they are jugded on dogs that are fed kibble and dogs that eat raw food can have higher values without there is nothing wrong just because the dogs are eating more meet and raw food going in thir digestive system but I would write this one he has tons of experience in raw diet this is his website
you can write him or call for questions http://k9joy.com/

he really knows alot about the raw food and the dogs digestive systeme

I have an 11 1/2 year old in renal failure;  he is also extremely thin but he gets raw;  honest kitchen with ground meat in AM with yogart and cottage, sometimes eggs;  usually chicken drum sticks at PM meal (3) drumsticks.  He is extremely finicky eater, always has been; I do add salmon oil cap with Vit E in am feeding and he gets duck jerky happy hips to get him started eating.  The nice thing about The HOnest kitchen diets is you can add  as much warm water as you want to the diet, in his case he laps up his breakfast, he is lazy and does not want to chew bones in AM.  Is OK for PM feeding but wont touch in AM.  Go figure.  I use the HOnest Kitchen Zeal but I also add ground meat and you can make it a little soupy or real soupy, I think it helps to hydrate these kidney failure guys.  That is very important for them to stay hydrated.  Best of luck, it is kind of a hit and miss situation but I feel it is more important for them to eat than not.  Kibble is shit for renal problems.  So feed her what she will eat.  Best of luck  Nan

PS:  My boy is doing much better than he was a couple months ago;  this AM he ate some ground organ meats (Bravo) added to his honest kitchen zeal;  I also give him pork neck bones raw;  beef neck bones raw, of course chicken, heart/liver/ and I give him kidney raw.  TRy to give kidney more often but don't always do it.  Made me very happy  Nan

stay away from phosphorus.  don't feed too much lean meat like chicken and turkey (higher in phosphorus).  fatty beef, fatty lamb, or fatty pork would be good options (more fat, less phosphorus).  feed minimal organs and minimal bone (very high in phosphorus).

green tripe is a really great food for renal failure...calcium:phosphorus ratio is 1:1, meaning 1 calcium grabs 1 phosphorus and takes it out of the body so that it's not hanging around in the kidney creating more work.

do your research.  this is a good place to start - http://www.dogaware.com/health/kidney.html. read through all the info, keep it bookmarked, take a look at the charts, etc.  you can also look for yahoo groups that deal specificall with renal failure and raw feeding when in renal failure (i know there are a couple, i just don't remember the names).

good luck to you and your girl!  <3
