Hi, Could you, please, get me any info on Sonja Markowski. All my info is out of date and the website germanshepherddog.de does not lead me to her. Thank you. This is my email address: mgershanok@gmail.com

Rinus Bastiaansen, I have purchased a few dogs from Rinus that I am completely happy with.

Dennis

I am getting my first GSD pup from Rinus ( Daelenburghutte) next week. He came highly recommended as an honest man with high standards. He has answered my many questions, fully and without hesitation. I asked him to chose my pup for me and I know I will be 100% satisfied with him :)

One comment on Adler Stein (since it was among those recommended in this thread): I have a 9 month old pup from Adler Stein who has just been diagnosed with elbow dysplasia. I had intended to do agility with him, so that is now out of the question. We will most likely have to go through surgery just to reduce pain for my boy (any obedience or other performance option for him is unknown at this point). Although Anne Kent has been reasponably sympathetic, Adler Stein's contract does not cover ED, and no compensation has been offered - so caveat emptor for all of you looking at breeder contracts.

Still in grief mode for what was to have been my next agility star...

Why buyer beware?

Did you ask for the contract to be modified to covered the possibility of ED?  You did sign the contract witout the stipluaiton of ED as well as HD?

If Adlerstein is being reasonable on something not covered by the contract, what else do you expect?

That sucks so bad. You buy a puppy for various reasons and in less than  a year, you a dealing with surgeons and lots of vet bills, etc. I had the same problem with a pup I once bought who had a serious heart murmur. The first vet "missed" it.

My apologies if this shows up twice - I'm not seeing my most recent post come through, so I'm trying again.

Firstly - I jumped the gun with my original post, because Anne Kent has since contacted me to say that she does indeed try to help out in cases like this, where things might not be covered by the contract. I totally missed any reference to this in the initial exchange of emails I had with Anne after my pup was first diagnosed with ED. So - a big kudos to Adler Stein for that, and my public apologies for assuming otherwise.

Secondly, what I meant in my original post was for people to look for ED in a breeder contract. I was sadly ignorant of it - and hadn't thought to look for it in the contract with Adler Stein, let alone ask for it to be added. So - BAD ON ME.

I'm pretty new to GSDs and still learning, but you all probably figured that out anyway.

vom GrimOrkies* Chris Orkies~ Super dee duper breeder. Keeps trying to throw puppies at me. Said he wanted to send me two when I bought our Baden and if we wanted to keep her too, we could pay later. I should have taken him up on that! Kicking myself in the ass now. The whole litter turned out awesome. He is more concerned with my pups well being than I am most of the time. Would replace a pup without you having to ask. Really knows his dogs, pedigrees, drives and who produces what. Knows and trains his own dogs, in 5-10 years if he is still breeding we will all know his name.
