I noticed the picture of this dog in the "Latest Pictures" gallery. I guess what I noticed was the floppy ear, so I checked to see if the pedigree is here-it is. On this database the dog is listed as being "a"4 hip dysplasie. I guess the reason that I looked is because there has been so much discussion lately about floppy ears. And in the picture, it appeared to be a dog who was or very nearly an adult. If this is all true then it is sad, as the pup's lines appear to be good lines. Bob-O

What does this teach you guys? NEVER buy an expensive 8 week old puppy from a breeder who claims that the puppy is show/working/Breeding quality. This is a scheme for the breeder to make more money on the puppy. BEWARE of theses breeders.

It is too bad that the pup didn't develop but I living overseas have been told by my vet that you should administer calcium I stand by this since the dog food we get over here is not the same quality as it is in the states. But I looked at the pictures and I feel this is a 4th year vet student opinion the dog starting at the 3rd month looked like he should have recieved calcium, his feet are not round they look flat and they are sort of bent out and infront at the joint. does anyone else feel that way??? And brittany you are right you should not pay a huge some of money for an 8 week old puppy you can never tell how they will end up looking like.

It's a fact that not all the pups that look promising, really turn out that way. It's the same with humans too! I agree with that Brittany. I read so many ads on this sight about puppies that will shine in all phases of whatsoever. No-one can know that. A good handler can make a "bad" dog good, just as a bad handler can make a "good" dog useless! And as for the breedability of a puppy, who knows if all their teeth will appear, or if they'd rather sit on the sofa than be trained for a show!

Guys, Look again. Am I the only one who sees what this dog is standing on? His ear is probably flopping down in response to being nervous and uncertain on the ice. Also, it says he's a4. The owner is pulling on his back leg, positioning him. On ICE. Who knows what made him a4. I'd certainly have to wonder.

LMH said: [[His ear is probably flopping down in response to being nervous and uncertain on the ice]] Yes, why would they have him standing on ice?? However, it is clear from the other pictures the ears never stood correctly. I wonder if they ever tried taping them.

Even if the dog's ears were perfect, he still could not be shown because he is a unlateral cryptorchid (has only one testicle.

If you would like to blame me for all of his issues than I suppose it is my fault his testicle "disappeared" too...... Take the photos and information for what you want. Anything I post will only be spun into whatever you want, so you can continue to live in denial. I am not a novice and know how to raise a puppy........ (BTW, it was slush, not ice that we were standing on in the photo. His co-owner wanted to see how he was/wasn't developing). Thank you to all those who sent the private response regarding this.

What I really meant by "is this a wind up"-was that just below this thread, many people are congratulating the pups litter sibling for doing well in germany( and good luck to him by the way)and praising the breeder owner.yet on the http://www.klgsd.com/Federo.htm website of the other pup it says that the owners contacted the breeder on various occassions but got no response. But this received no critical questions at all, assuming all the facts are true-this unfortunately is where the show world stands at the moment.Of course we must all appreciate that we only have one side of the story. On a slightly different note, are soft ears and one testicle hereditary ?
