I would like to say thanks to all the replies I received yesterday about Zah( on my post:GSD PUPPY SIZE.....? ). I'll be taken her next week for her last set of shots plus rabbies....and see what the vet has to say about her size...she is almost 12wks but weigh'n only 6#'s I expend too much time tinking about why that I almost forgot it is time for her shots.....oh boy!......(also, I figure it out how to post her pic)...thanks again...

You might want to talk to your vet about waiting until she is 6 months to do her rabies vaccination, especially since you have a developmental concern. My last litter the pups were 7-9 pounds at 8 weeks of age, 6 pounds at 12 weeks is definitely unusual. Let us know what your vet says.

I would be concerned of dwarfism because that is way, way, way too small. My pup was 32 pounds at 12 weeks old and weighed 13 pounds at 8 weeks, granted she was a bigger pup but 6 pounds at 12 weeks is a big concern unless of course the pup ends up being a mix. Have you contacted the breeder about the problem, maybe they have had dwarfs before?? or in the pedigree. Do you have a pedigree you could post?

When I called the breeder, I was told she will be more likely her mom's size.....still waiting on AKC paper to come(mail)....I have a schedule appt w/ a vet for next week.....Thanks
