Omg, lol.  I was looking through old post this am and found this one that I started on here almost 3 years ago!  Was titled    "Let's get to know each other a little bit"? and had (348 replies)!  Get it going again?   All newbies post a little about yourself and your dogs!

I have just one GSD now.  He's 5 years old.  Retired from showing and now a full time farm dog : - )  Divorced almost 2 years ago and now living North of Lansing, MI.  Met the love of my life and will hopefully live happily ever after!  Have a great day all.

Name is Kim, I am 26 years old and live in farm country south of Ottawa. Currently own 2 horses, 3 cats and 4 dogs. Due to my age, still kind of wandering through life...especially with jobs
The only thing constant for me is my desire and passion for working with dogs and for riding dressage.

I'm Amanda. I live in the Llano Estacado region of W. Texas because of job availability. My family has lived in the Nikiwasi region of western North Carolina forever on my dad's side, and that's where I call home, and to there I will one day return.

I've worked with animals professionally since my very first job, which was giving horseback riding lessons to beginners. I've worked as a horseback riding trail guide, a horse trainer, a dog trainer, a dog groomer and a band manager for local bands- often holding two or three jobs at once, long story. Right now, I train dogs for a living and hope to until I finish college, which will be a long time because I'm not even enrolled right now. I've had to drop out twice for health reasons but I'm determined to finish. I want to be a veterinary behaviorist.

95% of everything I do is clicker training, but since I do believe there's a time and a place for R- and  P+ I am not technically a clicker trainer per Karen Pryor's definition- more of an operant conditioning trainer.

I have two dogs that are staying with me no matter what:

Gir is the dog in my avatar- that's a pic of him as a puppy. He's 45 pounds, "strong and desperately brave," and just an all-around handler-oriented excellent, drivey dog. I want to try schutzhund with him.

Zim is my husband's dog. He looks exactly like a miniature boxer. People always say, "Oh, a Boston Terrier?" No, a boxer. It's possible he's just a very stunted, undocked boxer, or really inbred or something. We found him at four weeks or so and we and the vet thought he'd be a medium sized dog, but he's a whopping 23 pounds. He's a cute little guy and I'm glad we have him.

We have one dog that fell into our laps and we may or may not keep:

Chadam is a Kangal dog. We found him wandering and his owner doesn't want him anymore because they already sold their herd because of the drought. Fact: it has not rained in Chadam's ENTIRE LIFE. He's about 9 months old. We THOUGHT he belonged to a guy who keeps Anatolians down the road, so when we saw him we took him in and the next day tried to return him. Took a while to find his old people, who don't want him. Now we feel kind of stuck, not sure what we're going to do.

I really wanted my next dog to be a registered purebred and I had a couple breeds in mind. This happens to me EVERY TIME! LOL I guess I'm a sucker.

Anyway, I enjoy grooming a lot, too, and one day I hope to be a master groomer in addition to getting my CPDT-KA (hopefully!) this fall and a degree in vet tech and then veterinary medicine... one day. At least I have high aspirations!

I also have a leopard appaloosa horse named Stonewall.
