Birdy

Just got back from picking up dog food and while I was there the local distributor for Innova products was talking to the owner of the store. I did my best to listen in on their conversation.

Distributor was moaning that he'll be in the near future losing his distributorship of Innova as the company (Natura aka Proctor & Gamble) will work directly with Wal*Mart to carry and deliver their foods to the stores.

I'm sure they'll start using "Wal*Mart" quality (lack thereof) food stuff ingredients for their new "sub-standard' food as well.

If this is "old" news to most of you... Sorry, I don't get on here much anymore but I did want to let everyone know what I heard at the feed store today.

Yes Old news about Iams buying it;  new news it will be in WalMart.no

I was told by my distributor and by Natura directly that Innova will not go in Walmart stores. Just pet speciality stores and Petsmart is the newest one it will be in. Maybe you heard him say Petsmart and not Walmart?

No, he said WalMart.

I hate Wal Mart

by 1GSD1 on 25 April 2011 - 23:04

I hope he misunderstood. My distributor told me when it was first announced it was going on Petsmart that it would not go in Walmart. I called Natura and was told it will not be mass produced and will not go in Walmart or Target, etc. She specifically repeated Walmart and added not in Target either. I agree, that'll be the end of it.

Ace: The major networks just had a bit how they are going after Peapod, the home delivery market. They are crushing the competition with loss leaders.
frown Banking on the sheer numbers. The competition crumbles and the consumer suddenly is faced with less choice. frown

Other than raw pork necks, I don't buy dog food at Walmart. I do buy some people food, bedding, household equipment and supplies there because of the prices. Otherwise, I would not buy Innova anywhere.

P & G takeover = one more brand to cross off the list.

I could see you chomping on a raw pork neck, Louise.

My distributor is very picky about food and food companies so I trust her to tell me when the P&G takeover starts effecting the ingredients.  I've fed California Natural for years.  However I'm trying out some new kibbles (TOTW and Fromm) so we have some other options if we need to switch.
